Pregnant after csection

I had an emergency csection in January (failed induction) but was told it all went smoothly. I was advised to not have another baby for 12-18 months, but it wasn’t clear whether that was having the baby or falling pregnant. My husband and I would like our babies close together, and have considered trying to fall pregnant around September this year, which would be 9 months PP, meaning I’d be about 18 months PP by the time the baby would be due. Is that going to be to risky to try that soon after a csection? Has anyone done the same and had no complications?

I think it means getting pregnant 18 months after section c

Not that I’m saying you should do this at all, but I will have 13 months between births, (wasn’t planned obv) I wouldn’t see having 18months between births as a major issue. 😊 They’ve been so nice to me and supportive even supporting my Vbac. 😊

My midwife said 12-18 months recommended until pregnancy, but six months minimum would also be ok. She did not try to put me off at all and said it would be fine. Like you I think we’ll try 9 months after (currently 5) and also an emergency c section after failed induction.

I was told to wait 18 months between conceptions. The reason is healing internally properly before you start to stretch the scaring inside again. Risks include uterine ruptures, unsuccessful pregnancies and being high risk. Also, the sooner you get pregnant the lower the likelihood of having a VBAC as an option due to the risk factor. Your external scar might look good but it’s the 6 layers inside including the one across your uterus that concerns them xx

I was told pregnancies should be 18 months apart

There will be 18 months between my babies and my doctors said ideally they like to see 2 years between births but I’m a low risk pregnancy and have been approved to try for a VBAC 😊

Chance for complications increase the sooner you get pregnant. It's best to wait 12 to 18 months to allow your body to heal fully before becoming pregnant again.

I have 18 months between my 2 children, both c sections. Nobody batted an eyelid about them being that close together and I was offered a vbac if I wanted one.

I was told not to give birth in less than 2 years so can get pregnant after 15 months

I was advised 18 months between birth.. meaning getting pregnant 9 month pp would have been fine.. exactly what I did 🤣 my 2 are 18 months 2 weeks apart (both C-Sections) very ‘normal’ pregnancy second time round x

I had an emergency C-section in january last year. Now i m 26 weeks pregnant no complications yet. My journey very smooth

I was told I had to wait 12 months before I start trying again. Csection scars take a while to completely heal inside and the sooner you get pregnant, the more likely the scar is to rupture. I have a friend who got pregnant when her first was around 8/9 months. When she went to have a second csection, they noticed the inside of her scar was completely open and said both her and baby were lucky to be ok. I would wait x

Everyone had a different experience so its totally depends on body.. there are so many experiences like positive and negative. So totally depends on body

I was told 2 years before having another. It's to give your body time to heal, especially internally but I think it's still ok. Be consultant led and Def won't be induced.

Everyone is different, but I would wait personally. I had a C sec in October and I wouldn’t have another pregnancy until my boy is 2 years. But that’s just me. ☺️

I had emergency section in August after failed induction and was told to wait 18-24months. My next delivery when it happens will be planned section. I’ve been told I’m too high risk for a VBAC due to uterine rupture. The longer you wait the higher the chance of trying for a VBAC. I would speak to dr or gynaecologist to see their opinion

18-24 months before conceiving for optimal health and recovery for you and baby.

I was told to wait a year as the scar needs to heal properly internally as well as on the outside. I'm not planning to have another baby, but if I would, I would wait just in case. Especially if everything went well, you don't want to have any problem the second time. But that's just me :)

I had an emergency c section in October 2022 and got pregnant again around 4 months after ( it wasn’t planned and my cycle was a mess after the trauma of my C-section in October) I had a successful pregnancy and baby boy born on 3rd November 2023, I had a positive experience and a risk free pregnancy, which was healthy and I had a healthy baby, my scar was regularly checked, but I did live at the hospital basically, I had appointments after appointments, tests after tests and scans after scans. I was extremely well looked after, but it was hard c

I’ve had two sections and no one told me anything about how long to wait.

I would say it means falling pregnant as your scar hasn’t properly healed but my mum fell pregnant with me 2 months after having my brother (not expected) and my sister 18 months after me we were all safe and healthy❤️
