Question about WIC for pa moms!!!

Hey there! Recently, I found out that WIC has changed from being paper checks to a card system. I'm a bit lost since I had it with my first child, but it's been 6 1/2 years since I've had to apply for anything like that. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and would love to apply for WIC again, but I'm not sure how to do it now. Could anyone kindly explain how to apply and what's needed? I'd appreciate your help. Thank you so much in advance!

You can apply online that’s how I got Wic when I was pregnant

@Katalina do you happen to know what was needed and the website? Every I try it brings me to a weird site.

Messaged you !

I just asked my ob who to call ! It’s a different place for everyone so talk to your ob about getting on it they should give you a number for places around you. All I needed was ID and my child’s due date , they give you a card and load it 3 months at a time. You have to attend each appointment to get the wic for those 3 months

@Briana thank you!! I'll also check with my OB I have a appointment on the 10th

@Amanda of course !

i was able to apply/submit interest through the compass website where you apply for food stamps/medical assistance as well

So it’s different for every location, but you can go on Google and just look up Wook office near me and will take you to the nearest one. Usually they require photo ID and proof of pregnancy as well as proof of residency.

But if you call them on the phone, you should be able to book an appointment with them through there and just tell them that you have no access to the website to book an appointment online and do it on the phone for you then they will ask you to come in and do a physical

Just look up and call your local WIC office! 😊 I’d set up an appointment as soon as you can because you can get benefits while pregnant

I had just applied about 3 months ago and I just called my local wic office and told them I’m new to this I would like to apply how do I go about that & they should give you the information on how to do so. For me I had to submit some documents to an email and then I called back a few days later saying I completed that and I need to make an appointment. If you get approved with it being a card system they have an app you can download and link your card to it so you can see your benefits on there and when you start spending it will update on what you have left

You call 1-800-wic-wins and just follow the automated system you'll need your photo ID income proof of address and proof of pregnancy from a doctor

Thank you everyone 😊 ! Definitely gonna look into everything !
