NHS scans wait time

To my mamas in England, is anyone else struggling with the massive amount of time between NHS scans? 😩 I’m 18 weeks and it feels like I’m waiting forever for my 20-22 week scan. I can’t help but worry

Yeah it’s been eating me up the past week or so. I’m also 18w and mine won’t be until I’m 21w so it feels long away!!! A lot of people had a private scan inbetween to find out their gender but I’m choosing not to find out, so it seems even longer inbetween the scans x

@Aimee it’s totally eating me up too, you’re not alone. I really wish we had more scans 😢

I’m always 18 and got a few more weeks and I’m sick with worry that’s somethings wrong. I even bought a Doppler but think I’m picking up my own pulse rather than baby’s

Just had my 16 week appointment, am now 16+5, no scan till end of the month and no other midwife appointment till the 2nd of July, everything feels ages away

@Patricia yes! I have my appointment end of the month, and my next midwife appointment is end of June there’s just so much time inbetween !

@Alena I bought one too out of worry but I find it causes more worry when I can’t find her heartbeat so I’ve stopped using it 🙈

Hi all. I hated the wait. I'm 17 weeks and we paid for a private scan just to find out gender and reassurance. Its helped with the wait and now I only have to wait till the end of may for my 21 weeks scan x

The wait is awfullllllll! I’m pregnant with my second and midwife said I’ll have less bcos it’s my second 🫠 I had a private one at 6 weeks and having another private one next week to find out the gender cos there’s no way I can wait until my 20week one next month🥲

It’s a good sign you and your baby are well! I’m 16 weeks and so far I’ve had four NHS scans for various complications with baby. I have 2 scans booked for next week and another at 20 weeks because it’s a high risk pregnancy and they need to keep a close eye on me and baby. So I know it’s can be really difficult waiting around between scans but maybe try seeing it as a sign that all is well in your pregnancy! It might be a little easier that way ☺️ x
