My Child Doesn’t Eat…

My son is almost 9 months and doesn’t eat. I’ve been weaning him since 5/6 months, and I’ve tried every way and advice possible. You name it, I’ve tried it. Nothing works. He isn’t underweight, he’s active and playful, he sleeps ok, drinks his milk, will have a snack here and there like yoghurt or banana, but doesn’t eat any of the meals I make him. He would dabble on it once upon a time, but now he’s completely gone off eating and turns his head away with every spoon. Isn’t interested in holding and playing or feeding himself either. I’m very worried he isn’t getting the nutrition and vitamins he needs. Could it be health related? Has anyone experienced the same thing? Does it get better?

Well its food for fun til one and all the nutrition will come from his milk. Just make it sensory. Chuck a load of cooked spaghetti on his tray or a mix of different bits and make it playtime rather than eat time cos if he senses u getting tense at eating time he will push back even more

Mine didn't really eat food till 11 months. Would just play with it before that most of the time. She's just turned 1 and has gone back to not eating tonnes. I do notice she tends to go off it when teething/during development leaps so could it be that? Honestly don't worry though as Gigi has said, food before 1 is just for fun. It used to eat away at me and I was getting such mixed advice from health professionals it was very confusing but she got there eventually and I'm sure your LO will as well

Do you do purées?

Have you tried giving him exactly what’s on your plate and eating with him so he watch you eat too?
