Can teething cause a fever?

My boy only has 2 teeth and struggled getting them through however he is currently getting the top 2 and bottom side 2 and has a temp of 37.7 this evening, is this likely due to teething or something else?

Yes teething can definitely cause a fever, you can give Calpol or ibuprofen to bring it down/help with the pain.

@Laura thank you! I had heard it can from family but NHS website says it doesn’t so I was just checking. Have given nurofen tonight before bed! X

Yeah I was told by family too, our baby got a mild fever too last time a tooth was cutting. Hope your little one feels better soon, teething is so horrible! X

Teething itself doesn't cause a fever but they tend to put more things in their mouth when teething and so pick up virsus a bit more easily which can cause the fever. So give pain relief if you feel like they need it x
