Toddlers

Anyone else's toddler (mine is 16m old) not like when you and your partner are being affectionate? My husband and I were just sitting on separate couches holding hands and our daughter freaks out anytime he touches me. He's never done anything to me. Not even once. However she starts crying everytime he tries to kiss me, cuddle, hug or hold my hand.. I've tried reassuring her I'm okay and even letting her join in on the cuddle or hug. She just pushes him away. I don't know if she's just a mommas girl or what is happening but it doesn't allow for much physical affection during the day 😅

My son does this too maybe not crying because of it but always tells daddy no it’s my mummy.

It’s just jealousy my son does this too. They want the attention / love/ affection of the preferred parent. Just continue to be affectionate with your spouse and tell baby they can have a cuddle too.

My son will get between us and say stop that. Sometimes I think it's because he's seen us argue and thinks that what's going on. But either way he'll put his hands up and say stop that 🤷🏽‍♀️

Seems like jealousy. If it was me I'd start saying "Mommy has time for both of you. We need to share mommy. Daddy deserves hugs/cuddles/etc too. Come here and cuddle with us."

Definitely jealousy. My daughter used to pull my hubby away by his nose at that age.
