C-SECTION GLUE

*For women who had had a C-section!* Any mamas who have had a c section know how to get the surgery glue off your skin? I’m 3 weeks postpartum and had to go to the hospital because it was tugging on my skin and causing bleeding. Common sense says use oil but this is some high grade VERY sticky glue! Lol We tried mineral oil and coconut oil but nothing is working. Im open to learning your hacks! *Please don’t comment if you don’t have the experience of a C-section.* Thanks!

I still have stuff stuck to me. Dr. Told me to let it come off naturally and to just pat the area dry. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Valerie same! My doctor said they would peel off naturally but those stitches were like one with my skin!

I’m also 3 weeks post section. So if you do figure something out let me know. I figured I’d wait till my 6 week visit and if they’re not off by then, ask my dr.

Mines dissolved on its own

My doctor removed mine for me. There was another OB who told me 2 weeks pp to be sure I was washing that area like I hadn’t -_- it’s hard to remove!!

@Valerie that’s what I was going to do but then the patches that keep the incision site closed, started tugging on the newly formed skin and it started to cause bleeding. Doctor said to take it off in two weeks to avoid infection, and I barely escaped one. I would encourage you to take them off if you can before your 6 week postpartum visit.

I used towel and rubbing alcohol on my sticky belly just before shower and then after as I had missed some and it came off pretty easily ! Just make sure you don't gwt it in the wound and be gentle as because of the numbness you tent to be a bit rough and can cause damage to the skin or wound ! 😉 hope that helps 🙏

They gave me a little bottle of orange oil. The same stuff in those wipes above my comment. Uni-solve

They told me don't touch it. More you pull and mess with it the more damage you cause. It will fall off when it's ready. It took almost all of 6 weeks.

I used vasaline on a cotton pad and rubbed gently. I had to do it a few times but it worked really well

Surgical glue is supposed to fall off on its own. I know it gets itchy, but try not to pick at it.

I know you said not to comment if you haven't got any experience 🫣.. But I've learnt something from this post 😊thought you only got stitches with a c-section. Thanks for sharing.
