Traffic and stoplight meltdowns

My toddler has a meltdown everytime we stop at a red light or we are in traffic. I try to explain to him that red means stop and green means go but he still gets upset is there anything else I could try?

My daughter used to do this so I did alot of explaining and activities with her at home about it and explained it before getting in the car and now she's loads better at traffic lights even tells us red means stop and green means go

My twins do this. They seem to have ridiculously accurate memories so if they anticipate us going to a certain place (even if we don't go often) and we don't go the direction they expect, full melt down. I mean, even on the interstate, they know what exit we should be taking. It's wild!

@Sadé my son does this too!

My daughter used to do this, if this happens ( driving in London is a nightmare never flows ) I usually put miss Rachael on with all her songs and we sing them. But atm it’s more if I drive down certain roads if I don’t go there often as such she don’t like it
