I used bottle water or even tap when safe or when I had nothing else and none of my kids ever got sick I don't really see point to boil it cause that also kills more then just bacteria but also any good parts that naturally are in water too
If your concern is about killing the bacteria in the formula boiling the water cooling it and storing it won’t kill bacteria in the formula you mix with it later. This is a warmer im looking at it has the temp right on it and you can use it anywhere $24 on Amazon https://a.co/d/1y8wflg
Boiling water won’t kill bacteria in the formula only in the water.
Sorry should have specified, I am using the kettle for the hotshot to kill the bacteria, then using the cooled boiled water to make up the rest of the bottle. My worry was how can I store the cooled water and how long for so I have it on demand for every feed, if I was to boil and cool it in bulk so it’s there ready
What about something like this? https://uk.nuby.com/products/rapidcool-baby-bottle-maker-twin-pack?variant=44907392630998¤cy=GBP&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuO2XyM7-hQMVL5VQBh0lbATiEAQYASABEgI09vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I definitely recommend the Nuby rapid cool. But before I started using it I never waited the 30 mins for the kettle to cool with my son, he’s alive and well 😅
I boil a kettle and fill 2 sterile 11oz bottles with the hot water and leave it to cool on the side. It is safe to use for 48 hours. When one bottle empties and I move onto the next I refill the empty bottle with boiling water again and it will have cooled by the time I’ve used the second bottle. No need for a prep machine or a rapid cool whatsoever! X
You can’t store cooled boiled water in preparation because the water needs to be 70 degrees when it hits the formula. It’s killing the bacteria in the formula not the water, so boiling it and cooking it to use much later defeats the purpose
@Casey yes sorry was meant to say I use the hotshot method so the formula is being mixed with boiling water, the cooled boiled water is only to make up the rest of the feed
How about using a bottle warmer?
