How do dry up milk?

Unfortunately my breastfeeding journey has to come to an end. My little boy is 7 weeks old and he's been put on dairy free formula. I'm devasted but it's what's best for him. What the quickest way to dry my milk up? I hate pumping and it just takes up so much time.

you can honestly keep breastfeeding (if you want) since he can’t have dairy, you just wouldn’t be able to consume any dairy in any way. I had a friend who’s baby was seriously allergic to dairy and she’s breast fed up until now and he’s about 15 months ! but you can put cabbage in your bra and leave it there thru out the day and it’s supposed to dry your milk up !

@Johnna I would cut out dairy. But I think alot of food I eat unfortunately contains it. My mum suggested cabbage too 😂

My nephew is also allergic to dairy and his mom had to cut dairy out. It worked like a charm for baby.

I cut out dairy, spicy foods and overly processed foods to help my baby with it, there are loads of lactose free options out there

@Sade it is hard so I don’t blame you but yesss try it !

Nothing is fastest way if u pump it will tell body to make more only way is to cut the demand and suffer though the engorging or like others say feed away and avoid the dairy

I’ve heard Sudafed helps dry you out

Unofficially, any cough medicine containing a decongestant. Id also wean off the pump to prevent mastitis, so pump until you feel comfortable, and then gradually drop down amount of pumps a day x
