i feel like an induction increases chances or a c-section anyway (at least that’s what happened to me) so if it were up to me, i’d prob go for a scheduled c section
May I ask how far into your pregnancy you are? Sorry I know I can’t offer my opinion as I’m a new mum 32 weeks, but I have GD too and I have excess amniotic fluid so I’m curious if they’ll try to enduce me or what they may do if they do anything different for us. Your situation sounds similar to mine
i had gestational diabetes and was induced at 38weeks 3 days. my baby didn’t handle the contractions well and we ended up w a c section. so if i were to get pregnant and not be able to go into labor naturally, i’d prob just get the c-section the second time.
Depends on how important vaginal birth is to you. Sure, you could end up with a c section anyway and, depending on the circumstances that led to it needing to be done, it could be traumatic but ultimately you know what to expect on the recovery end. Or you could have the vaginal delivery you originally wanted with your first and have an easier recovery. I had a vaginal birth with my first and c section with my second and absolutely hated it. And I won’t lie, c section recovery with a toddler has been tough. But I will fully acknowledge that everyone is different.
Personally I’m going for a c section as I don’t like the risks of VBAC plus my local hospital doesn’t do VBAC again purely because of the risks associated I was told if you’re planning on having over 3 kids, try for a VBAC for your body as the more c sections you get it becomes risky
@Kaydee I’m currently 38+3. They told me they would want to get baby out between 38-39 weeks as the placenta can start to deteriorate after this. I originally opted for a csection but still haven’t been given a date 🤷♀️. So now I’m waiting around for a date, I’m having too much time to think about it and contemplating induction instead 🙄 x
I had GD and was induced - I was on the induction ward for 2.5 days and got very little sleep, then 14 hours in labour, 3 hours pushing, then ended up having a c section anyway. I really wanted a natural birth but I'll be going for an elective next time to avoid going through all of that again!
Oh that’s not good :( I mean the last few weeks are stressful as it is so making you wait around isn’t gonna help. I hope they managed to sort a plan with u on a date now but I’m sure everything will go smoothly, good luck! And thank you, I recently got diagnosed with GD because they saw I had extra fluid, they haven’t really been telling me what this will mean for my delivery, I assume coz I’m 32 weeks so got time yet but I’m curious when I meet others similar as to what to expect x
I’m probably not much help but I wouldn’t want to be induced for VBAC. I think that makes it more painful & also yes more risks. I’d go for Csection
