Therapy?

I would love to hear from others if therapy is worth it and if it helps. Truly in a deep hole that i don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel in.

Therapy is great. Meds helped me the most, but therapy helps too. My only tip for therapy is, if someone isn’t clicking with you, just get a new one. You don’t even have to tell the old one. Just cancel the appointment with their office and make a new appointment with a new one.

I am currently in therapy I just started seeing a new counselor My daughter turned 2 recently and ever since I had her I just haven’t felt the same at all idk if it was due to postpartum after having her or if it was relationship issues after having a baby but I feel like it does help alot

Benefits of therapy: -A safe person to talk to in a safe space -You get to learn new tools and coping skills to help yourself -The extra support can feel more motivating to solve your problems -It provides relief -Reminder that you’re not alone because your therapist will have your back. They’re there to support YOU. Limitations: -Costly -Time consuming -It doesn’t always work for various reasons. Some people aren’t lucky to find the “right one” right away, and it can add more stress. In my opinion, I’ve been in therapy for 7 years with different therapists in different cities. I’ve learned soooooo much from them and they’ve been a huge part of my healing journey. 10/10 would recommend it. Or at LEAST trying it for 6 months.

Therapy is so accessible now with so many virtual apps. I love having a person that's not my family and friends to work through challenges. They offer good advice at times. I will say, sometimes it takes a few different therapists to find the right one.

As a therapist who sees a therapist I highly recommend :) non profits offer free to low cost therapy btw.

Love my therapist! She has given me so many tools to help! 100% recommend. Also don’t be afraid to “shop” around. You have to find the right fit

@Amber do you take meds?

Currently I’m not I was on Prozac and Zoloft and they didn’t work well for me I have a lot of anxiety and I really need something that will help with that

Therapy is great—but agree that you have to find the right one. Also agree that meds can be helpful and sometimes necessary. I needed them for a time to climb out of the hole. I no longer need them—it doesn’t have to be forever! I did therapy for years refusing meds and finally took them. It was like my brain came back online and the therapy worked better and everything! I got off of them when I didn’t need them anymore. I recommend doing all the things until you find what works and what your body needs.
