It depends what you want. We got a junior ISA for our baby but money we put in there won’t be accessible until he turns 18. If you want a savings account you have regular access to then I’d probably just check out MoneySavingExpert to find one with a good interest rate and open an account in your own name but use it for baby.

i’m commenting on post as I would love to see responses to this question 🙋🏼‍♀️

I think the ones from Halifax are still the best if you need access to the money

I joined Halifax last year and i like it! the interest is good too!

I just chose an instant access one with the bank I was already with 😅

Depends on what you are after. We opened an account with santander - great interest rates, money cannot be withdrawn by anyone, she can access when she is 18 Nationwide - great rates, cannot access till 18. I've been with them for donkeys years and the level of service is fantastic, rates have always been good I've heard Halifax is a good one, that was my baby account . Apparently this is good

I opened one for my son with Halifax (I bank with them too) He can access it when he’s 18 x

I need to find one as well. My bank says they don’t offer child savings until they are like 11 years old or something xx

Hi I work in banking and if it comes to good easy access and fixed for 12 months for kids savings account I highly recommend Lloyds/Halifax kids saver or if you want to have no access for 12 months for amazing interest rates check out kids monthly saver too. All the information you can find at each of their websites and also you can open it online and upload the child's documents using their secure uploading systems. Hope that makes sense lol

We went for Yorkshire Building Society One Day account as it had good interest rates (not the best out there but top 3 I think) and you can withdraw without penalty. At 18 it can change to her name or we can request to delay until 21. I found most, if not all of the Junior ISAs were Stocks and Shares which runs a risk that I didn't want to take with her future.

Great question
