I am trying to confirm 100% that this is my diagnosis. Do you know how long you have to be off birth control to do the blood test? My GP said 3 months whereas my gynecologist just took them first while I was on birth control then again a week later once I was off. I'm trying to figure out whether or not this is an imbalance or truly POI as my gynecologist questions.

I'm having most of these symptoms. Currently it's sleep, like I'm afraid of the dark all of a sudden. Started HRT pills three months ago

Can somebody please explain the 'electric shocks' ? Is it that crackle that you have in your head at night?

Avatar

Hi all, Ive just joined and am very confused with it all! 😕 But I saw this and had to respond. I get most of the checklist from other illnesses 😂 so think I'm a bit stuck 😂 amazing how big these lists are, as if it isn't bad enough having periods in the first place, our body punishes us for them to stop!! 😂

Hi. I’m 45 and still having regular periods but I’ve started getting terrible acne. It’s horrible. My skin has always flared up before my period but it now doesn’t seem to calm down. I even have it on my neck. Could this be the start of Perimenopause? Does anyone else suffer this symptom? Any tips on what might help?! 😘

Almost all

Hi all, I’m new to the site, so apologies if this has already been covered. I had a blood test last year which confirmed I’m peri menopausal. Christmas i found a large lump in my breast which caused huge worry as you can imagine. Having recently undergone MRI & ultrasound scans, thankfully! They found it was just a large cyst which they managed to completely drain however the pain I was experiencing before is still there 3wks later. I’m assuming this is now peri symptoms but has anyone else experienced this? My breast doesn’t hurt until it’s touched.

Avatar

I have just about all these and my doctor told me I would have to miss 12 periods in a row to be full on menopause

Hi I’m actually on HRT gel for 3 months still had symptoms so endo changed me on to the patches which I’ve been on for 4 months so a total of 7 months HRT and still get most of these symptoms. I’ve been nauseous for 4 weeks lately. I’m wondering if I should just go off the HRT and don’t do or take anything. I’m so over it all. Anyone else has this whilst on HRT?

Avatar

Hi Sharon I’ve just swapped types. I don’t think there is any other dose I can try except for implant of a hormone capsule or something.

Avatar

I’m fed up with years of a bloated stomach looking like I’m pregnant 😢

🙌

Avatar

Oh wow, this is very interesting- I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and the list of symptoms is almost exactly the same.

Avatar

Hi Sharon I have got so many ticks on this list , this definitely has give me the push to vist my GP thank you x

I’ve been on HRT for 4 months now- game changer!!

I had to go to a womens clinic to get a pulse off a doctor to rx but so worth it.

Hey Marta 😊 I note that you're in Florida, and things over there are a little different when it comes to menopause care than they are over here.

Can you go to another gynaecologist who specialises in menopause? What reasons were you given for their refusal to help you and prescribe? ❤️

Avatar

Oof! HRT actually helps to reduce cardiovascular risk for most people most of the time 😊 this article may be helpful (UK, but the facts apply globally) ❤️

Note: Transdermal HRT presents lowest risk ❤️

Avatar

Wait. I been having all that my entire life. 🥺🥺😂😂😂💯🥵🥵

Avatar

I tick everything on this list, I notice allergies but my doctor told me my allergies have nothing to do with the menopause yet I’ve never had them before in my life

Avatar

I got a sun allergy as one of my earliest symptoms, it's very much A Thing! ❤️

Avatar

Fantastic. Thank you.

Avatar

Sun allergy? Can you elaborate please?

I had been having very mild symptoms such as mild hot flashes and feeling clammy for a year now, but have been experiencing even more noticeable/uncomfortable symptoms for about the past 2 months or so. Night sweats, anxiety, palpitations, hot flashes, achy/painful, stinging/tingling sensation in joints, headaches, dizziness. A few more symptoms and ohhhh, let's not forget low sex drive and a hard time of reaching an orgasm....which has never ever been an issue. This is all I assume perimenopause.........goodness gracious, what's to be expected of full blown menopause?!?!?🤦‍♀️ NOT looking forward to any of it.😱

Avatar

there's not really any such thing as 'full blown menopause' 🙂

Perimenopause is when symptoms are most likely to be at their most noticeable, but they can continue into postmenopause.

Perimenopause is the lead up to the actual menopause.

Menopause is the ONE DAY of the 12 month anniversary since last period.

Postmenopause is everything after that 🙂

Perimenopause is the best time to begin topping up your depleting hormones, both to deal with symptoms and to give added protection against future health concerns like osteoporosis and cardiovascular issues.

I'm aware there is no such thing as full blown menopause, that's just MY interpretation of no menstrual cycle for 12 complete months. Thanks for the link👍🏼

Avatar

lots of people do use that terminology, however I think it's important for M-brace to be clear when presenting information so I do like to make the distinction 🙂

Avatar

Wow I tick all of these apart from the sweating. Tried to get a doctors appointment but that’s weeks away. Anybody know anything I can take to ease the anxiety in the mean time? Xx

hello 🙂 Take a look through our factsheets here:

Avatar

I have 23 of these hoping to speak to my gp this week, on hrt and feel it's still too low to work properly x

Avatar

I have about 18 of these 😕 but back pimples is another thing I've not had before and I've read that it's from an increase in testosterone 😱

Avatar

hello 🙂 not necessarily an increase as such, but our hormonal balance is fluctuating so testosterone levels can be relatively high compared to oestrogen as ovaries start to shut down...❤️

Avatar

thanks 😁 It a time that's rife with bodily surprises. Isn't it? 😱🤗

oh yes! Have a scroll through the group to see previous posts and information, but if there's anything you need to ask specifically please just pop a post in the group 😊

Thank you so much 🤗 The website looks amazing 😍 I can't wait to delve in ❤️

Avatar

I have all but about 5 of them!

Avatar

are you doing anything to help you with those yet? 🙂❤️

Avatar

I have heard that it is safe for women to take a viagra. That this will increase your libido because Viagrq increases blood flow to the area and improves sexual desire.

- we don't recommend taking any meds that have not been specifically prescribed by a properly qualified healthcare professional ❤️

No sé qué hacer.
