Vernix on newborns

My little girl was born with lots of this on her skin. They didn't wash it off it just came off on its own pretty quickly. It made her skin super soft x

The only time it gets removed is if there is complications or you can specify for it not to be removed. They don't wash babies in hospital as the normal just tend to towel them

My nurse gave my boy a bath before we were discharged

I left it on and she had her first bath around 16 days old. Her skin is amazing now! She's never had any dryness
, Rashes, cradle cap or anything. We just washed her hands, face, feet and bum x

Its best to actually rub it into her skin. As it helps protect her skin from the environment, as they've been inside us for 9 months so their skin is super delicate x

You can take in so much information before labour and feel like you forget everything. But there is a book called the baby care bible. Majoritly its up to date and really its down to personal preference. But yeah go with your gut. Xx
