PCOS - testosterone and prolactin levels high

Hey,
I’ve just found out that my testosterone levels and my prolactin levels are high which is one of the causes for my PCOS - I’ve been taking certain supplements but just wondered if anyone going through the same has any advice on what to take, what not to take that’s worked for them when TTC. Currently waiting for my gynaecologist appointment so any advice or information is much appreciated! 🥰

Mine were high too, my doctor told me to go on birth control again to lower them and it worked but still want a baby 😞

Same with me.
Saw and Endo, and did a ton for blood work. Found out due to the insulin resistance from pcos, my ovaries were over producing testosterone..

My endocrinologist told me to take metformin. However since I am TCC, it wasn’t really an option for me. Maybe in the future? I’ve heard a lot of people taking inositol though I’ve never tried it.

Ask for the high levels of Prolactin, my endocrinologist said given my body type (I’m a 32h) anything brushing up against my boobs could trigger elevated levels of prolactin. Luckily I did not have anything serious.

Hi Bethany, just wondered how you've gotten on? I was diagnosed with PCOS around 2010 and last year was told I had slightly elevated prolactin levels, after we'd been TTC with no luck. I'm currently miscarrying my first pregnancy 😔 wondering if the hormone issues have anything to do with it 🤔 got my 1st appointment with endocrinologist next month! Xx

Oh gosh yeah, so long! Had my scan in September and still haven’t seen anyone about it!!
Will be contacting the gp soon to see if they can refer me now to the fertility clinic instead of waiting till June because of how long it’s taking!!
That’s good you’ve been referred to fertility though! Fingers crossed you won’t be waiting too long!!
My main symptoms is absent/very irregular periods!! Hair loss and tiredness. I don’t suffer with many of the symptoms luckily 🙏🏻
What about your self?
We’ve been trying for two years in June, I come off the pill then, but literally had about 4 periods in that time!!
I’m 30 next year so definitely have some sense of how your feeling!! Xxx

I've also had some slight male patterned baldness, like thinning of hair near my temples & crown. My hair has thinned in general a lot since I was little - my mum used to struggle to tie it up it was that thick!! I also struggle with my weight, very up & down & I get sugar crashes if I eat too much sugary food, not sure if that's to do with it? Despite my periods not being as heavy or painful, I do still get pains up my back passage when I go loo which makes me nearly faint it's that bad! But yeah, I don't really have excess hair or anything and actually my periods aren't too irregular, but whether it not I ovulate every month I'm not sure 🤔 ovulation tests have been varied! I hope you get seen soon!!! Xxx
