Hey, Iām currently 37+1 and like most pregnancies Iāve suffered with hip pain throughout the night, but usually managed by getting fairly long stretches of sleep before it wakes me snd I have to turn to the other side.
This is no longer working and I literally feel like I need to switch after like 10 mins or so⦠so sleep is extremely disturbed!!
Still using my trusty pregnancy pillow to support meā¦
Anyone experienced similar later on in pregnancy and have any miracle fixes?
Please no ājust wait till babies hereā re disturbed sleep. I am fully aware and prepared and I canāt bank sleep so itās just pointless negativity that no one needs to hear. Thanks xxx

Sorry no resolution but Iām also having the same exact issue and looking for help! š

Sames. Sitting up relieves it as mine also hurts when lying on either side. So try plenty of pillows for support to sleep sitting up

Iāve got this too. Iāve found waiting to go to bed until Iām super tired helps a bit as I sleep through a little of the discomfort.

Iām 34 weeks and Iāve had this for the last 7/8 weeks now and itās just getting worse I could cry Iām that exhausted nothing helps Iāve got pillows everywhere and tried everything I possibly could but I canāt remember having a good sleep in such a long time xx

Having the exact same, itās horrible!

Feel ur painš„“š© been up since 5am because of it.

Iām 35 weeks and Iāve been suffering with hip and rib pain at night, I feel you š¢š¢ Iāve noticed that if I take a heat pack to bed with me and put it on the side Iām laying on it helps to ease the pain and I have to switch sides a little less. However it doesnāt always work! Xx

I find my hip and lower back pain is worse when I don't get my bedtime routine right. Sounds mad but my best night's sleep are when I put myself to bed properly.
Bath or shower right before bed
Gavisgon/heartburn preventative
Oil/moisturise bump
Night cream for face
Water by bed
Magnesium supplement
Lavender oil burning
Sleep spray on pillow
Preggo pillow in right position
Phone ALWAYS on do not disturb 10pm-6am.

Same problem here, can only suggest pillow nests as others have, and a pillow between your knees to alleviate the hip pressure a little.

I was saying the same to my auntie yesterday and although sheās not been pregnant she used to have severe insomnia and said that magnesium spray changed her life recently. Essentially a little spray to rub into your skin and it gets her so relaxed and she can fall asleep really well.
Iām suffering the same as you so thinking of giving this a try. FYI, she said itās safe in pregnancy as far as she knows but wasnāt sure about breastfeeding stage due to transfer to baby so Iād suggest a little research first xxx

I also tend to find a paracetamol and hot water bottle laying behind me helps when I canāt get back to sleep, sometimes I just lay the hot water bottle flat on the bed to make the area hot and then just move my hip to the heat once I remove it šššš sounds so silly bjt Iāll do about anything just to get back to sleep xx

Sleeping sat up is my only option right now as I have rib and hip pain. Lots of pillows and a pregnancy pillow around the bottom of your back

I have had really bad hip/pelvic pain since about 24 weeks, I would recommend getting a birthing ball, and looking up pelvic pain exercice. I have a little routine that I do morning and evening. It has made. Such a difference, at one point I really struggled to walk it was that bad. I also got a spiky plastic ball to rub my hip with and it feels so nice. The bad news is it gets worse with every pregnancy (which I didnāt know before deciding to grow 2 humans in 2 years! Hope these tips help. And also not all babies are terrible sleepers so donāt listen to the negative horror stories from everyone. X x

I find propping the top of the pregnancy pillow on more pillows so your head is up quite high helps take the pressure off to start. For me, the hip pain does still eventually hit but not until well into the night rather than every 10 mins xx

I get this, it became so bad I had to bite the bullet and pay for a chiropractor. They advised that when Iām sleeping to make sure Iām not over rotating my hips/pelvis so sleep with a pillow between your knees to keep your hips and pelvis level. I also make sure my bump and back are supported with a pregnancy pillow which helps to balance out the weight.
If you dont have one, get a birthing ball as it helps to ease the pressure throughout the day. Keep active with walking, pregnancy yoga and hip strengthening exercises. I have oersonally found these videos useful

Sorry long message but hope it helps!

No magical fixes to suggest Iām afraid, just to say I feel your pain and youāre not alone. Have been struggling with PGP since about 16 weeks and the nighttimeās are now unbearable, have had womenās health physio but hasnāt helped much. Have taken to paracetamol to try and help after going for much of my pregnancy without. Just counting down the days/nights now. Will have a read through some of the other suggestions people have put up! š¤š¼š¤š¼

Thank you for all your replies and suggestionsā¦
I have suffered since early on with some fairly āmildā pelvic girdle pain⦠so I have tried a lot of these suggestions already⦠Iāve coped fairly well, itās just these last few weeks are a bit of a killer and itās ramped to super levelā¦.
I am on the birthing ball a fair bit that does an half give me back ache)
I do morning and night stretches
Hot water bottles, pain relief.
I did contact a chiropractor but am super reluctant to spend that money so so close to her arrival.
Magnesium is not one I have tried so I guess thatās the next stepā¦. š

Had SPD since the 22 week mark but like you itās only got really really bad in the night these past few weeks! Iād say Iām waking every 20 mins to roll over but it feels broken every time I do! Iām 37+2..
I have a V shape pillow around my head and shoulders and a V shape pillow between my legs.. Iāve found if I use it one night and not the next it seems to help (I donāt know why).. Iāve taken to folding it in half too to get more thickness.. I try and make it so my hips are in line with each other and what would be shoulder width apart if I was stood (knees too)..
Iāve also recently taken to a hot water bottle on my hip.. that does help!

Epsom salt baths before bed I have found helped a lot. And also, once the pain has eased I have found I can stretch better before bed which has also made a difference. Magnesium spray also a great idea. It tingles when you apply it but thatās nothing to worry about.

Any recommendations for a magnesium spray?

Iāve got this one

Iām 37+1 too experiencing the same. I just hate going to bed cos I know how bad itās going to be. My midwife just said not long to go š¤¦š»āāļø and if another person tells me to ābank sleepā or āget plenty of sleep nowā after Iāve just told them I canāt sleep Iāll probably scream!!! Itās so frustrating isnāt it xx
