I’m going in for my 35 weeks appt this Friday and was wondering if they usually do cervical checks then or at 36 weeks? They also haven’t told me how much baby is weighing at..

My OB doesn’t do them till 39 unless you’re showing signs of labor.

Up to your provider and also your preference! It’s not very accurate in determining labor so often means nothing. You could be 2cm and go to 42 weeks or 1cm and give birth the next day. Personally I’m declining cervical exams, which is also an option!

Where I’m from in Arizona they said they will start at 37 weeks , I’m currently 36

me, too! I am declining them during pregnancy and even during labor unless there is a good enough reason to check. They are much too routinely done and don’t give as much helpfully information as healthcare providers often make you think.

exactly. I’m also not getting any in labor unless medically necessary which would be rare (potentially just before pushing if baby’s position isn’t matching your physical signposts/contractions)

My OB starts them at 36 wks but I chose to decline as they aren’t accurate and I want to naturally go into labor if possible without stressing on whether I’m dilated or not. Also, dilation means nothing if baby is not in proper station.

exactly!

38 weeks

They started mine at 36 weeks with my son. I have a different OB this time around so when I go for my next appt I’m going to ask when she does them

Mine told me today that they start at 36weeks

They usually start at 36 weeks but since my second pregnancy I always decline them. They're painful and don't indicate anything. You can be stuck at the same dilation for weeks.

They started mine this week. 36 week

We checked mine at my 36 week appointment because I've been having pretty consistent contractions. Found out I'm 50% effaced, 1cm dilated, and baby is -3 station 🥳

me as well!!!!!
