c-section and piercings uk

Mines was an emergency so I don't know if it's different for a plannex one but I had to take all piercings out. I did forget one and they just taped it and got on with things though

I covered my nose and ears with tape for my c section xx

Mine was an emergency c-section and they did ask if I was able to take my lip bar our, but mines like stuck and I have trouble unscrewing it so I think they just left it 😂

i’ve literally screwed all my piercings on sooo tight i can’t get them undone, plus it’s a nightmare getting my nose piercing in and out so i don’t want to take that out either

If you can’t get them out then no it doesn’t matter, it’s just incase. I have my smiley done which I literally can’t get out it’s stuck and they was fine with it, just make sure you tell them where they are

I took mine out except my nose ring I told them it was hard to take out and they said it was fine to leave in, didn’t cover it with anything

I’ve got so many piercings in my ear, all with barbells and screwed in. My section was an emergency and I just remember telling them it’s going to take me about half an hour to get these all out so they taped them up. I think if it was planned it would probably be different

When I had the hormone drip I was told I would need to remove any jewellery including piercing incase I had to be rushed for a section.

I imagine you can refuse but it’s likely not in your best interest x

Mine was emergency so they just taped mine over, i cant see that even with a planned section they can force you to remove 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve just had a planned section 16 days ago.
I was aloud to keep ears in as I couldn’t remove them it’s been that long the balls wouldn’t loosen but the had to be taped with medical tape how ever any around your mouth/ in your mouth you are strongly advised to remove incase the section turns into a emergency as sometime a tube is inserted to keep airways open. They can’t force you though just advise you. Was also told they had to be taped and noted down as something they use for the section can react to certain piercing jewellery.

They asked me to take out everything before the csection

If you can take them out then that's ideal but otherwise they can tape them. Its so they don't get tugged/ripped out if there's any sort of emergency mostly. Lip piercings should definitely come out. X
