Instant Hot water tap and making up formula

Has anyone been given any guidance on whether you can use an instant hot water tap to make up formula? I’m new to formula and i have an instant hot water tap in our kitchen. It’s one where there’s a little tank under the sink and it’s constantly kept at boiling temperature.

I asked the infant formula company but they’re saying it can’t be done that way as they’re sticking to what’s on their packaging and not budging at all. I understand they do this to prevent any kind of blame if anything goes wrong but it’s not always practice to make the feed like they say on the packaging.

I can’t find anything online either. Has anyone had any advice via their healthcare professional? I’m not seeing mine until 2 weeks time. Thanks x

@Keeley yes this is what I was thinking, even though it’s not reboiled as such, it’s stagnant and that’s probably just as bad. Just trying to make it as easy as possible but doing it the way the pack says isn’t always practical especially at night 🤦🏼‍♀️ x

@Keeley yes I have been using the ready made up until now. She’s was exclusively breast fed until 3 days ago. A severe tongue tie, high pallet and prolonged jaundice has made feeding difficult. I’ve been expressing but now she’s 6 weeks she’s wanting more and I just can’t keep up with the demand. Expressing and her getting frustrated with the boob as she gets it quicker from the bottle have become exhausting. I’ve been using the ready made the last few nights but I think I’ll be introducing formula more in the day too as I’m not producing enough. So I thought the powder would be better and a lot less expensive going forwards x

You can boil water and keep it in a flask overnight and just use that as you need it

Yes i have instant hot tap. It comes with filtered system and its 100 degrees hot so yes its totally fine. Some hot taps are 98 degrees hot but that's fine too as bacteria can be killed at 70 degrees. Hot tap is a life saver as you have instant hot water and no need to wait for boiling kettle
Also very useful sterilising bottles and ect

@Raminta is there any issue with the fact that it’s stagnant water? On the pack it says not to use water that’s been repeatedly boiled. I’m guessing the water in the hot water tap tank isn’t repeatedly boiled but is kept at that temp but stagnant. Would this be a problem? Do you know if it would it be classed as being repeatedly boiled? X

@Rebecca its not repeatedly boiled its boiled once and kept at the 100 or 98 degrees ( depends on the model). Once the tank capacity is emptied new water will be boiled! I have no issue used this since my son was newborn. If i would have kettle i wouldn't replace so often left over water anyways and just would boil the same one. Never heard of such a thing - what does repeatedly boiled water do?

@Raminta thanks for this info as I don’t own a kettle either so using the instant tap would be so much better. I’m not sure exactly why you shouldn’t use repeated boiling water, it says it on the aptamil infant formula box. It also says it on the NHS website when you google how to make up a feed. Apparently reboiled water changes the minerals in the water and isn’t suitable for making formula. X

We’ve been using our hot water tap for the last 9 weeks with no issues, I can’t imagine it’s any different to when people use a flask and the water is left sitting in that for hours?

I got a big flask and fill it up at night to use for feeds. I re do the same for the day and it saves on using the kettle constantly as it’s quite costly x

Escuela infantil

¿Tanto cansancio es normal?

Hola que tal! Quisiera preguntarles mamis, si ustedes como yo se sienten cansadas tooodo el tiempo, de que literal lo hacen todo en automático, con cero ganas de hacer nada y a veces de malas?

No se que me pasa, tengo mucho tiempo sintiéndome así, más desde que tuve a mi segundo hijo (tengo 2 solamente).

Hago ejercicio, como saludable, duermo medianamente bien 7=8 horas, entonces no se por que ese desgano todo el tiempo, me obligó a hacer las cosas en verdad, hay días, muy contados y raramente en los que me siento de mejor energía pero no basta. Tengo 37 años, no se si es cuestión de edad, es normal sentirse tan casada todo el tiempo?

Mis últimos estudios médicos salieron bien de todo, entonces no se que pueda estar pasando, simplemente ya no quiero sentirme asi

No quiere comer mi hija de 9 mese y está baja de peso

Hola mamis la verdad estoy desesperada, mi hija tiene 9 meses y la llevamos a su chequeo. El pediatra nos dijo que está baja de peso la verdad me preocupa porque mi hija no quiere comer y no hay manera de que le entre la fórmula, ¿Alguna mami sabe de alguna vitamina que le ayude a ganar peso?

Hola mamis! Bueno quiero contar mí situación hace un mes tuve a mí bebita que nació con 2,700 Kg todo bien estuve en el hospital 3 días lo feo empezó cuando el día que me iban a dar el alta me dicen que mí pequeña había bajado 200 gramos que es bastante y que tenía la glucosa baja, después de tediosas horas de darle teta y tratar de despertarla se logró y pudimos irnos a casa estuve con lactancia materna pero mí gordita seguía baja de peso y no aumentaba casi nada entonces empecé a darle fórmula por qué note que casi no me bajaba leche, por suerte aumento (osea volvió a su peso de nacimiento que era lo primordial las primeras semanas) de ahí dejo de bajarme leche, mí bebí no se quiere pegar a la teta, la rechaza, llora muchísimo cuando trato de pegarla y eso me tiene súper mal por qué todos hablan de que lo mejor es la lactancia materna y yo solo puedo darle fórmula me pone súper triste ver qué no puedo cumplirle a mí bebé lo que debería y busque mil formas de que me bajará más y no hay caso (tome reliveran, me hago masajes e intento extraerme pero no hago más de 10ml, es súper frustrante)
Alguna mami que haya pasado por algo similar? (Cabe aclarar que tuve una cesárea programada y supuestamente eso influye en la bajada de leche) Me siento fatal por qué aunque sea doloroso siempre quise dar la teta :c
Está mal alimentar al bebé tan pequeño solo con fórmula?
