If baby doesnt burp after feeding but farts, does that count?

I believe it isn’t the same, but them farting is still releasing any gas that’s in their bodies. If they aren’t being fussy after a feeding & look content after a few min of you trying to burp them then there’s no need to continue to keep burping them for even longer, because like Natalia said, not all babies need to be burped or will burp after every feed.
My baby doesn’t burp after every feed, but I do notice that he’ll somehow still pass any air he did intake by farting later.

If they won’t burp and If you hold the baby upright, they’ll burp naturally. My daughter has reflux so I have to hold her upright for 30 minutes after feeding and she always burps once or twice without me doing anything

I hold my son upright after burping & he most the time burps on his own if he didn't while I burped him. He also is alwayssssss farting on his own

It probably depends on the baby and each feed could be different. I’ve definitely experienced that though especially if he’s just getting the boob and not the bottle he doesn’t always burp. I’ll try to burp him for a good five minutes before I give up on it though. Whenever I give up sooner he’ll spit up as soon as I put him down.
