If you've chosen to have a C-section, not for a medical issue with the baby but rather something like you had an emergency C-section with your first child and you've decided to book in an elective section for your second. How many weeks were you booked in at??
I'm just having a debate because while I would like a VBAC I refuse to have an induction so I know at some point I would have to have a C-section if I didn't go into labour naturally but I also don't want to leave it till the last minute either.

I opted for an elective c section last month, I was called at 39 +1 weeks with my c section date and my C-section was done at 39 + 5, I did let them know from 8 weeks I wanted a C-section and was approved by the consultant at 32 weeks

They book them in for when you are week 39 and usually call you on the Friday before. I had one on Wednesday just gone and got a call on Friday 12th to say I needed to go in on Tuesday for my pre-op appointment and that it would be carried out on Wednesday.
They have been particularly busy the last few weeks and only usually perform them on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays though x

Yeah they ring you on the Friday for them the next week. Be prepared to go to Ipswich though I was sent there as Colchester was full x

I just had a VBAC few weeks ago after an emergency c section last year.
While talking to my consultant I refused the induction . We agreed on 3 sweeps between 39and 40.5 weeks. And if they didn’t work we had my C-section booked for 41 weeks exactly x
my hope would be as I don't have transport for that I wouldn't be 😂
this is good to know as I've been thinking the same kind of thing that I'd accept sweeps but not an induction but it's stressing me thinking about how long would I wait. My son was 9lb4oz at 2 weeks late and I don't want to be 2 weeks over again with another big baby as that with a C-section wound and a toddler would be a nightmare

Hi! I am due to have a c section at Colchester in less than two weeks and feel like I haven’t been told a single thing!!
What time do they ask you to come to the hospital for the surgery? How does it all work?
