Baby products being recalled

Ya so annoying everything is getting recalled. Philips avent and dr browns bottles being recalled because they're releasing micro plastics into the milk. Then also costco kirland wipes are being recalled in California not canada yet but not taking that chance. I'm getting so pissed nothing safe.

And apparently the adapter for the Hatch.

What's wrong with the wipes?

I can't find anything on an actual recall for bottles just the class action lawsuit.

But also ALL plastic foodware, especially anything being sterilized at high temps, is leaching microplastics into food amd drink. There's literally no plastic that doesn't. This has been well documented in research for many years. This class action is just someone making more parents aware.

That they have toxic chemicals in them that seep into our babies when we use them

@Kate my friend said it's recalled

I found this article but it only mentions the class action lawsuit. I can't find anything about a recall. I'm pretty bummed. I love the Phillips avent bottles.

The lawsuit is over false advertisement not about safety btw

Baby wipes consumer report. Check to see if your brand is on the “best” list. https://www.consumerreports.org/babies-kids/baby-wipes/how-to-choose-baby-wipes-without-harmful-chemicals-a1051850790/

I have been using glass bottles for storing the milk. But I’m scared to give the baby a glass bottle when he starts drinking milk by himself. What if he throws it and it breaks? More worried about him being hurt. 🥺 how do you guys do it? Can we get some silicone wrap or something to soften it in case he throws?

Avatar

I use glass Mason bottles. Cloth diapers and cloth wipes. So most recalls don’t affect me.

Avatar

All plastic baby bottles do the same. I wonder why only those two brands got targeted.

Try glass bottles.

Avatar

So if going with glass bottles, that’s probably better, but the nipples/soothers there’s no way to not go with plastic that I know? And guessing that’s still leaking microplastics..

Avatar

nipples are made of silicon, silicon is not a plastic.

I was just gonna say that 😂 you beat me to it

PFAS

omg! This is so so cute!! 😍 I’m definitely getting a few of these!

Philips Avent bottles are not being recalled in the U.K.

Avatar

and you can buy a straw teat for it, when baby comes time to drink water it can be turned into a water bottle. Honestly I love it and surprised it’s not more popular.

Avatar

that is brilliant! I love that it also converts as a container if needed to store milk.

Avatar

the recall is based on US regulations.

Avatar

there is no recall. There is just a class action lawsuit, which I wouldn't doubt calls for one, but as of yet no official recall in the US. Check Phillips recall list its primarily light bulbs, one baby monitor, and a coffee machine.

@Kellie Same. And when we use disposable products it's Honest brand for diapers + wipes, and Holle food pouches 🫶

Avatar

@Kellie Agreed. The Mason Bottle system is super affordable and a great plastic-free option. We got our LO the metal water bottle with the straw attachments and she does great with it. It's SO worth it moms 👍
