馃憢 Sorry that this is probably a really silly question but we are going on holiday (Europe) this month and my baby will be 9 months old. I鈥檓 wondering if it will be ok for him to go in the swimming pool when the water wont be over 30 degrees?
We do swimming lessons here and if the water is under 30 we can鈥檛 swim, so not sure if this will be ok on holiday as the air temp will be higher.
Appreciate any experience of this.
Thx!

Hm, I don鈥檛 think the pools will be as warm as that unless they鈥檙e in a posh resort. Why does it need to be 30? My little girl did baby lessons and it was deffo not as warm as that and it was fine. You could email the resort and ask about whether it鈥檚 heated? Otherwise you might just have to see what it鈥檚 like when you get there?

Where did you hear that it has to be above 30C?
the pool we swim at is 32 and my swimming teacher advised 32.
no, I鈥檓 expecting it to be around 26-28. It鈥檚 not heated as it鈥檚 a property we own so a private pool.
The pool we swim in is 32 and this is what our teacher advised it should be for little ones.

It should be OK as long as he wears a wet suit to keep warm.

It will be fine as long as it鈥檚 not freezing!

We took my little one abroad at 5 months. We popped him in a wetsuit and he went in the pool. It definitely wasn't 30 in there and it was absolutely fine.

I was in the same situation, our teaching pool is 32C . We are now abroad. The pool is 29C i put my 7 month old in a body warmer suit under his swimming suit, he was OK for about 25 mins and then started to get a bit shivery.
ahh thank you, this is super helpful. Did you user a fleece lined body suit (or similar) or one of the wraps that go over the swimsuit?

I used one of the thick neoprene wraps that velcro on, looks like a wetsuit, but I put it underneath his swimsuit 馃憤
