Has anyone got through anxiety without taking medication? I don’t want to take meds but feel like I can’t cope living like this.
Please share your experiences so I know i’m not alone.

Conoce más sobre nuestras reglas.I was dealing with undiagnosed anxiety for a long long time, I didn’t even realise it was anxiety, everyone around me knew and could see it. I thought it was just my personality. But I went to the doctors for an unrelated issue which turned out it was related and she gave me some tablets and they have changed my life. I was always adamant I didn’t want tablets to be happy due to my dad always been medicated I didn’t want to be like him, but honestly they have changed my life. I did try the CBT therapy before but I didn’t really change much xxx
@Katie Did you take medication through pregnancy?
I was really anti-medication but got to the point with my anxiety where I had frequent bad palpitations and realised for my LG that she needed a healthy version of me. I’ve been on sertraline (UK) for the past 18 months and feel so much more positive and easy to deal with things that would have triggered me before. X
@Katy Were there any negative side effects to taking Sertraline?
@Katie I think you are right, somehow anxiety is a reflection of our personality...we are too sensitive and worrying for anything...I also was always an anxious person, but I had anxiety from time to time. But since I have children I feel like my anxiety always with me, especialy when I live home with kids on my own...
Is so draining....
Can I ask you what medication do you take ?
I got PPA right after my second baby. It was so bad that I developed so many physical symptoms that I decided to get on Zoloft. I just had my 3rd baby (3weeks pp) and took Zoloft through my pregnancy.
Hi I didn’t take it through pregnancy no, I got them when my baby was around 7/8 months xxxxx
@Johanna Do you feel better now that you’re taking it?
@Nastia it’s absolutely exhausting isn’t it, your brain is in overdrive constantly and even when there’s nothing to worry about you find something to worry about. I was totally drained. I take citalopram, I still get the worries and the thoughts but rather than them sticking in my head and me constantly thinking and worrying about it they just float on through, or I feel more logical about things. It’s crazy the difference they have made to me xxxxx
Yes I do. I still get the intrusive thoughts but I can manage. It took about 2 weeks to start feeling better.
@Katie yes it is very exhausting....I suffer a lot from this...lately I had few panic attacks which I did not have for many many years...and I was thinking why my anxiety became so bad...I realised I was so physicaly and emotionally drained and also dehydrated...all this made my body nearly shaking...I try to deal without medication but sometimes I really need a tablet just to go out without worries...also I live not in a friendly part in London it makes it much harder. Xxx
