When do you start looking into buying this? Do most people just bring baby back in a sleep suit or something cute like those knitted outfits?
I’m conscious of the weather in sept as baby boy is due 7th so I’m wondering if it will actually be warm then.
Does anyone have any ideas what kind of outfits would be suitable? FTM here so no clue what I’m doing 😂

Conoce más sobre nuestras reglas. We didn’t get discharged until midnight. We had spent hours and hours waiting and by the time we left I don’t think I even thought about what he was in. Coming home in the dead of night to just get straight into bed!
If it’s for a nice picture then maybe get a personalised blanket or something as that will be seen on the car seat… or choose a nice outfit for the first time they meet someone special. Honestly by the time you are discharged you will just be so excited to leave it won’t really matter about the outfit!
Honestly with my first she just came back in her sleepsuit. I did get a nice sleepsuit with the family surname on which she wore when in hospital. But we went home at 6pm. Everyone’s tried. I didn’t have time for all that 😂
I’ll do the same this time. Just take some nice sleepsuits and a cardigan x
Thanks both! I had a feeling this would be the case! Sleep suit it is 🫠
Tbf, I think my first was in a sleepsuit until 3months. Only then did I start with separate tops, bottoms and socks for outfits. He was also a September baby.
You can get sleep suits with the year of birth or even get them personalised if you wanted to.
Thick outfits or cardigans won’t work for a car seat anyway so would have to be something thin ish.
I had a beautiful sleepsuit but she came out at 6lb 1oz so it drowned her! I think she was about two months when it finally fit her 😆
Due date twins 🥰 & im just gonna be using a cute sleep suit. We’ve chosen the Winnie the Pooh ones from Sainsbury’s 🥺 there so cute
My son just came home in a sleep suit + cardigan (but it was late November). I feel like you're just dying to get out of the hospital at that point! My brother did get him a really nice personalised blanket though which was nice for photos but that was more for his first walk in the pram etc
Mine have all come home in a baby grow hat and cardigan they never had anything fancy x
My second baby’s due the same day as your little boy and I was going to pack a personalised knitted romper, long version and short just depending on weather. Personally I love the idea of planning their first outfits but if your not bothered then a babygrow is fine x
Early September is normally warm (depending where you are from), I live in Brighton and we have lovely weather normally start of Sept so I would say just a sleepsuit, no vest or cardigan. Unless it’s evening then maybe a little cardi. You’ll want a nice thin blanket too. Nothing knitted for the actual outfit
I’m due on the same day also with a little boy and have been thinking the same thing. Most of the outfits in the shop are all short sleeves and I’m thinking I’m due in September who knows what the weather is going to do. Could be 30 or 10 degrees. At this point I think I’m going to wait until after my baby shower to see if there is anything I like and then buy something a few weeks before.
My first just came home in a sleepsuit. I was so exhausted getting him into a special outfit wasn't on the priority list, I just wanted to get home!
The coming home outfit we had planned with our first didn’t fit her(even though it should have) she was very swollen after birth and that took a couple days to go down. But the outfit we actually took her home in was a smaller size than the one we planned😂
