Has anyone found that Weetabix causes constipation?

My little girl hasn't done a dirty nappy since Thursday and I'm worried. I was told to give her 3 meals a day when I previously gave her only one a day, and I was also told not to give her any water with her meals. I started doing 3 meals a day and I also started giving weetabix for breakfast. Since then she's been constipated.
I'm worried as she's in pain and can't go. I've tried massage, warm bath, prunes etc. I feel like this is my fault.

it's not your fault at all, but it sounds like whoever told you to not give water with meals gave you some bad advice! increasing fluid intake usually helps, and try to avoid bananas and sweet potatoes. and as well as prunes give peaches, pears, veg etc. sometimes increasing solid foods means their iron intake increases, which is a good thing but can cause constipation/stomach upset! x

Does she show any signs of straining? Weetabix probably taking a long time to go through her as it’s full of fibre isn’t it and since starting solids my little girls hit and miss with her poos some days she don’t go and others she does a few poos a day! It’s all new for their little bellies, my GP told me to put a few drops of orange juice into water and it should help - I know some people may suggest otherwise but I’d give it a go! Aslong as she isn’t really upset and straining I wouldn’t be too concerned xxx

Babies absolutely need water with their meals I don’t know who told you that but I wouldn’t be taking their advice anymore. Keep up with prunes and get in touch with the GP to prescribe something if she’s still not gone.
