I think you can sleep on right to but it’s not so good for your liver or something like that... it hi k you can sleep on your back too up till like 24 weeks but I could be wrong so check it.. in 19 weeks but still so small so still sleeping on my back and both sides :)

You can sleep on your right hand side too, left is just meant to be better for heartburn/digestion and blood flow to the baby. You can prop yourself into any position that feels comfortable x

Aw thank you ! I’m only little at the minute but still worry x

I've slept on my right side up until this week because the left side was so uncomfortable and made my legs restless. I'm 31 wks now and baby is finally getting heavy enough to be uncomfortable on the right side.
Also I slept on my back til around 22 -ish wks

You're "supposed" to but I slept on my tummy til 34 weeks then I just laid comfortably as possible

Sleep however makes you comfortable. Sleeping on your left side, yes is good for your bladder, heartrate and blood pressure. But it really will not effect your pregnancy. So get comfy mama! You need your rest!

Sleep however you’re comfortable.

Thanks everyone x

I sleep on both sides. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and have had no issues .

I was told to sleep only on my left side, but then my daughter was being monitored and they noticed when i was on my left side she didnt like it and her heart would just so slightly decelerate (nothing serious) but from them on they told me to lay on my right side. So I don't believe it matters. Lay how you feel comfortable

Left is optimal. While I tried to do so, I wasn’t that that comfortable since was a right side sleeper. Just avoid back...it could make you dizzy

I've been told left is optimal, but so long as you avoid front or back then either side is fine. I found right side was most comfortable until about 2 weeks ago (I'm 38+5) and now nothing is comfortable 😂

The guidance in the UK is now to sleep on your left side for naps and at night. I found it really difficult and it stressed me out a bit because it hurt my back so much. Now when I go to sleep I start off on either side and if I wake up on my back just go to the side again and try not to worry about it!

They said it’s better to sleep on your left side. But my doctor said the health benefits don’t outweigh the risks of lacking sleep so do what you can. I slept sitting up on the couch.

I slept all the position cause if i fellow google i wont sleep at all 😂😂😂😂😂

They say try not to sleep on your back because of possibility of the weight putting too much pressure on some major blood vessel but i slept on both my right side and my left side

I slept on my right and left. Sometimes I would wake up on my back but then I would adjust. From what I read that was fine.

I try to mostly sleep on my left but also often waking up on my back or right side. Heard that sleeping on your left side only can also be not so great long term so maybe try to balance it all out.

No it’s not a must . You can switch to both sides from time to time. Just that on the left side, nutrients travel better to the baby .

I slept on my right side for most of my first pregnancy. Sometimes I'd even half roll over on my hips towards my belly. All was fine. I think the only position to worry about it flat on the back.

What ever is comfortable for u

I slept mainly on my right side as left was super uncomfortable and there was no complications! As long as you're not on your belly or back 😊

I slept on all sides except back even though Drs kept telling me left is better to get oxygen to the baby

Listen to your body. Try to sleep on your left side of course. But if your right side or back are more comfortable then go with that. Your body will tell you when it’s time to readjust.

I mainly slept on my left but sometimes woke up on my back. When you’re heavily pregnant your body won’t let you lie on your back comfortably so don’t worry about that! X

I’ve heard that as well I try to stay on my left side as much as I can but it does not always turn out that way lol this is my third pregnancy and I’ve slept basically anyway that made me comfortable and my babies are all just fine

A Doctor told me to sleep on my left side which is so hard because I always used to prefer to sleep on my right. I wake up most of the time on my back even after falling asleep on my left but I just try to go back to sleep on my left.

Dr and Chiro both said to me to sleep on whatever side is comfortable. I know some women slept on their stomach the whole pregnancy and everything turned out fine

No you can sleep on either side. Left is just your best option, it allows for the best blood and oxygen flow.
