If you lose a card, it does stay in your app, so you can link a Make your own card with it. Yoto has a subscription where you pay £10 a month and get 2 credits to choose 2 cards. You also get 10% off on all cards and free shipping as a member.
We have both. We kept the Tonie at home and left the Yoto at baby's grandparents' place, as we like it less.
My son is one year old and knows how to use the Tonie, but cannot use the Yoto.
Yoto has more functionalities, but I like the contents less. One of the cards we bought only has 16 minutes of music on it, for the same price as the others!!
The sound quality seems poorer on the Yoto too, but I can't explain why.
I think for an older child, the Yoto is probably better, as there is a radio and everything.
But we like the Tonie better. :)
We only have the Tonie but from what I heard from many people it sounds like it depends a lot on the kids age, smaller children will have more good content from the Tonie, while older children will have more age appropriate content with Yoto
We have the Tonie and it's a hit for us. It's good for presents and Christmas too as it's easy for some people to get characters for it. My daughter loves and we are lucky we can find all her favourite stories. We have a cool carrier bag and the headphones and we take it everywhere we go x
