My husband is a normal guy; there is nothing wrong with him. The first time, when our daughter was two months old, he called her “sexy.” I told him that was very inappropriate and not to call her sexy again. He got mad and said not to even talk to him. So now our daughter is 6 months old, and today at the pool, I put sunglasses on her, and he said, “Oh, sunglasses on, you look sexy.”
So I told him again she was pretty, not sexy. She is a child, and the word sexy is for adults.
He was vulgar to me, and he said this: “Who do you think you are? I call her whatever I want. She is my daughter. Only perverts like you would think something weird about me calling her sexy”. I just stayed quiet.
He is a great father, but it's disgusting to hear that my daughter is sexy. And it's disgusting to hear that im a pervert because I paid attention to it. What are your thoughts, girls?

Learn more about our guidelines.Oh, ick ick, my biggest ick. No, words have meaning and you should NOT BE CALLING A BABY, OR YOUR DAUGHTER, SEXY. What does he think sexy means exactly?? Would he call his own baby slutty? Fuckable? That's so wildly inappropriate and gross. Ew. You are not crazy, keep her safe. I would be running. Anyone calls my baby sexy, that's the last time they get to see my baby.
🤮
My thoughts are I would never leave him alone with my daughter ever ever again. Now imagine if she is a 6 year old girl playing mermaids with her friends and he calls them sexy. Same premise right? Yeah no that’s perverted and all trust would die on the second time. Especially since he would’ve yelled at me.
@Meghan If my dad called me sexy, I would never feel comfortable around him again, and I'm a grown woman
My husband did the one time out of pure ignorance and just being a “male” I corrected him. He was furious with me also, but soon came back and said he understood where I was coming from & that was not his intent. It’s just a “word” for a male but for a women it’s so much deeper. Maybe give him some space to process.
@Nicole nope, she told him once that should’ve been enough. Sexy is connotatively associated with sexual appeal. If ANY man thinks a BABY/DAUGHTER has sexual appeal they’re perverted and disgusting. If my husband did that and I corrected him and gave him his one chance, and he did it AGAIN. I would never ever let him be alone with our daughter and I’d monitor his pictures and videos. Any evidence to him being a pervert and I’d divorce him and take full custody.
There are too many sick bastards out there and I’d be damned if my husband was one of them. He’d answer to a hammer if he was creeping on our baby/daughter or any baby or child for that matter.
@Meghan girl I didn’t ask you for your opinion. This young woman asked if anyone else experienced this and what are OUR thoughts. Never said it was “right” or “okay” I clearly said to a MAN the connotation of the word may not be clear to them. Therefore, educating them is essential. However, when educating someone you give them the information and let them digest it. If that concept is foreign to you, I would not doubt it. Have a nice day (:
@Nicole, you're right. I gave him three hours to process, and then I came to him and told him to listen because it was a critical topic. So after I explained everything, he said he understood—and he didn't mean it in a sexual way.
But does he want her to grow up thinking that’s an acceptable comment from men? Of course it’s weird because of her age but he also has to consider that if he keeps doing it, she will accept it from others. I personally hate being called sexy aside from my besties & husband. I feel like with him making it a “normal compliment” now she’ll accept it from randoms when she’s older.
@Hannah, I completely agree. I talked to him about it and he understood that as well.
I mean no disrespect but get her away from him plz
@Alexis hands down to this, I left him on the spot with restrictions orders, well what a hard situation to deal with
@Meghan 🏆🏆🏆🏆
@Kea better now that later
I will supervise him 200 percent
ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOOOOOT!
Red flags is a thing, I don’t know you will have another one if there is a situation ask God for advise, it’s a though position in what you are right now
That would make me angry and uncomfortable. Don’t leave her alone with him. Document everything in case you need it later. Trust your gut.
@Alexis i second this. It is gross. He also tries to flip it around on OP that she is the pervert. Honestly, I would be having some serious doubts about this guy and I usually root for people’s relationships. This is just like huge 5-6 red flags. Yes-Protect your daughter and yourself
I feel like for men it’s more like sassy. Like I’ve never actually heard a male call a female sexy.
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 if "sexy" comes to mind when looking at a child, SOMETHING IS WRONG! Please get your daughter away from him and somewhere safe.
This is wild. The word SEX is in sexy. Why would you want your daughter to be associated with sex?!!! This is a red flag!!!
