I have been using it but depending on how long she feeds for I don’t really get much 30ml at tops or did get 50 ml one time. I don’t really know how much is a good amount in one sitting. I was going to maybe look at getting the medela manual breast pump. I’m new to this whole expressing thing just wanted to get some built up so if someone was looking after her they could give her a bottle. Would anyone recommend the Merela manual breast pump or is electric the way forward?

I have the medela manual and really like it. I do also have a cheap hands free electric one which is great, I prefer using that if I’m actively looking to pump a feed
I used the Haakaa. Loved it. Especially for those times where baby passes the feeding time and I’m so full and engorged. Also liked it for on the go. I could put it on, continue shopping or driving or whatever I was doing.
I would anywhere from half an Oz or 3 oz. Just depended on how long ago she fed. Also would wear it while feeling her and would get a lot of milk too. I liked it better than pumps.
I only really used the haakaa to catch extra milk during the first 6 weeks because I had an insane letdown, especially on the right boob. 30-50ml is what I typically got as well. If you're EBF and using it at a few times a day it will add up. If you want to pump also I'd recommend getting an electric pump though
I use Haaka overnight. When my boobs get engorged between feeds. I feed on one and catch the let down on the other in the Haaka. I keep a sterile bottle handy then I either freeze the milk or stick it in a bottle and baby would drink as a top up (he was below weight for a while). I still do it now but feeding less so getting less so sometimes it just gets poured out etc. But I haven’t had mastitis once in 5 months whereas I had it twice with my first child when I wasn’t getting the excess milk.
I only use it for a suction let down and love it.
A pump would definitely get more out though.
Boon trove is sooo much better... I've collected up to 3.5 Oz x
Despite having an oversupply I could never get very much out of a electric pump maybe 6+\- oz not much compared to how much I would get with the passive collectors especially in the beginning I was getting 20 ounces out of letdown alone most feeds but it turned out to be kind of useless bc son refuses all fake nipples (no pacifier or bottles etc) these days despite still having an oversupply at close to 6m I barely get anything out of the catcher even when my unused boob is spraying around the room 🤦♀️ the type of pump that works for you I think is different woman to woman and then also whether you get more from pumping or something else like offering your boob more often and skin to skin which was the case for me —that’s the only thing that effects my supply how much and how often he’s eating the week after his last shots he ate less and it finally dipped a bit the second his appetite came back I had usual over supply issues again 🤷♀️
