Eating at nursery

My girl is due to start nursery next month (she’ll be one) and I was wondering if anyone knew how the children are fed at nursery? She has entered a phase where she wants to be independent and feed herself. She’s great at eating finger foods but has started refusing to eat with a spoon. She won’t allow me to feed her or eat from a preloaded spoon, which she used to be fine with. We’ll keep trying but I got a bit worried in case they spoon feed them and she refuses to eat.

They should follow whatever you do! So they shouldn't be spoon feeding kids who usually feed themselves or leaving ones to feed themselves who are usually spoon fed. Id maybe send them an email just enquiring about how they do meal times and snacks x

When we viewed my son's nursery they were letting some kids feed themselves and others were being spoon fed. On one of the forms we had to fill in it asked about how baby likes to feed and what kind of textures he prefers x

Where I’ve worked we always follow parents instructions

Thanks, everyone! That’s very reassuring 🤗
