Hey ladies, I was just wondering if anyone else LO is showing these signs? I thought my bubba has acid reflux but nothing I tried has helped so far. I’m now thinking he might have colic but I’m not sure

I think its normal grunting noises they make in sleep. Not necessarily indicating any issue.

Do you mean because theyre raising their legs a little? They may have gas so try burping them longer keeping upright...but i think anything more serious they would cry alot. X

Not colic.
Could be painful gas or similar. Have you tried some gentle movements to try and help?

This was my little one last night, I think he has colic. But not sure

Thank you ladies, he generally calms down after I pick him up, burp him and hold him up but as soon as I put him down it starts all over again! I’m struggling to get anything done coz I’m holding him up constantly

Hi my baby was stretching and grunting a lot till 6 weeks and I asked midwife that is it normal?she said that it is normal

My baby girl does this exact same thing! As soon as I picked her up and put her over my shoulder she seems to calm down. Think it’s still wind as she struggles to get it all up and doesn’t burp very often. She makes those sort of sounds pretty much all night though 🙈 x

If he calms down as soon as u hold him I think it may just be that? He simply wants to be held? My bub is 4 weeks and will do the same when he’s put down but as soon as I pick him up or put him on the breast he’s fine, I figured if he was in pain he’d carry on crying even after I pick him up etc x

Gripe water might help if they're older than 1 month... It helps pop the smaller bubbles. My LO brings his knees up when laying down first of all to get comfy but will settle much quicker after gripe water..

My son used to do this & then cry but it was nothing serious. After his feed just hold him up right for about 15 minutes before putting him back down. It’s most likely gases x

My son did this I eventually bought the acid reflux sma milk and was best thing I did for him. After the first day of being on this milk he seemed to be much better and wasn't uncomfortable or upset.

Sorry this is happening to your little baby xxx seems that for all these type of issues mums just have to try different things…can be caused by gas, reflux, indigestion, etc…doctors advise for us was to try different things, if nothing is wrong with them doctors won’t help much…if he is bottle fed maybe a change in the milk type? They have anti colic and reflux milks to help with this issues. If breastfed I’ve heard it’s good for mom to stop eating lactose all together…some mums swear by infacol but maybe worth trying…changing milk and bottle really helped us!

Hi Nas, my LB is the exact same!! Turns out he has silent reflux. He’s now 7 weeks and I’ve tried almost everything. I tried infacol for trapped wind which made things worse, also tried colief drops to break down the lactose in the formula and seemed to help but he was pooping a lot. I’ve changed formula and I’m now using gripe water which seems to have helped with the grunting. The doctors also prescribed him with gaviscon which I give him a couple of times in the day! Good luck x

Hey ! This isn’t Colic. It’s just their little tummy getting use to everything. It will be non existent around 2/3 months. New mom here and my LO is 5 months and I use to complain about this all the time.

Give a little tummy massage. Put him on you legs facing up and gently raise both legs folding towards he’s tummy then gently swing his legs left and right and not more than 5secs maybe 3 time. It helps babies do a big wind lolzzz

My baby was like that exactly the same gripe water and infacol didn’t work. We bottle fed and my sister had seen a milk called kendamill so we thought it was worth a try and we haven’t looked back. We used the original but the organic is supposed to be good for reflux and stuff. Xx

My second daughter is almsot 9 weeks old and was exactly like this. It was awful. I tried everything. Gripe water, infracol, gaviscon - everything. My GP told me that the only advice he could give is that they grow out of it. That all the other stuff ‘just gives parents something to do while having to watch the baby be uncomfortable’. At the time that advice really annoyed me but I’ve now found it to be so true. My daughter would only settle with movement. She has suddenly grown out of it at 8 weeks. Just hang in there - it seems like it will last forever but it really does pass. Just hang on. X
