Toddler activities

What do you guys do with your under 18mo toddlers in the winter? I take mine to toddler group every day but that’s only for 1-2 hours and then I’m lost of what to do for the rest of the day and sometimes it’s too late to leave the house! Plus I don’t drive atm so I walk everywhere with the pram (which she hates!)😂 found she’s watching more tv than she probably should although I read to her a lot and try to play but she just runs off! Has anyone got a solid no screen time routine they stick to? I’d love to know

We play instruments
Colour in
Do Flash Cards
Play dough
Pretend Play together where we cook food and feed his teddies
Make ramps for the cars
If the weathers not too horrendous we go to the park and collect sticks/stones & leaves
I also get him to help me with tasks around the house like helping me load the washing machine dryer etc
We rotate our toys
Most of the time I just come up with silly games for us to play
( my little boys 18mo )

We go to the park for a couple of hours in the morning walking round looking at trees, looking at dogs, talking to random people, then go to feed ducks/squirrels then the play bit then we come home have lunch & then he naps for 2 hours then we either go for a walk or stay home and play. We do play dough, building forts, playing with a ball in the garden, we also do house work together. He hates the pram too so I try to take snacks and ask him random questions which just about keeps him in it long enough to get where we are going

Hi! Mine is 21 mo I find that she is the happiest when she is doing what I’m doing, kitchen tower is really helpful, handing laundry, putting the grocery away, cleaning etc.
Enjoy 😂

Our daily rhythm is:
Getting ready for the day (change clothes/pottyetc)
Milk (coffee for us)
Breakfast
Morning walk/ or indoor food /cleaning/anything she would like to do independently
Nap
Lunch
Afternoon walk/ painting/ running around/ rough play
Dinner
Bath
Bed

one thing I do need to do more with her is household chores! I even got her a cleaning set toy but she doesn’t use it because she doesn’t know what it is! Suppose it’s time to introduce it!

Treasure baskets - full all sorts of random but safe stuff.

I find it hard as well. When the weather is horrendous and there’s no chance to go out he does watch too much tv. But then on days with better weather we are out and about or playing in the garden and he doesn’t watch so much tv. So it’s my kind of balance 🤷🏼‍♀️

how do you get the kids to stay on the blanket and not run around the house sprinkling beans everywhere? 😆

Playground is great, when it’s not raining, but I also love the library! We have a really big one in town, she is only 12 months, and they have a room for kids, she can crawl around, it makes her really tired.

I modeled it. At first, I sat down and played with the beans first and molded how to do it and they followed. I do have to remind them to keep them in the bin. And sometimes it does get messy. But definitely worth it.

Our girl got an easel for Xmas. She uses crayons pens and chalk and it keeps her interest for ages
Apart from that nursery rhymes, lots of playing with her dolls, kitchen and cars. She also helps around the house, taking clothes out the washing machine, sweeping etc, she loves to help and get praise :)

I may have to get something similar, little girl has taken an interest in drawing with crayons but they’re a bit rubbish! Was thinking one of them water colour matts might be good
