I’m Irish living abroad and have always loved the sound of the name Fionn. I’m conscious of my son constantly have to pronounce and spell his name here so was wondering if there was an Anglicized spelling of Fionn🤔
Thanks

as far as I'm aware, Finn is the anglicised spelling of Fionn - if it's pronounced "Fin". if Fionn is pronounced more Fee-On, I'm not sure of an anglicised spelling. 💙

I’m Irish abroad too, and honestly I would go with Fionn. I’m a teacher and there are sooooooo many names that aren’t pronounced as they’re spelled, I reckon I teach way more students with ‘unusual’ names or at least names I have to ask them to pronounce. Fionn is such a beautiful name and I would teach him an easy way to tell people. For example my niece Aoife always says ‘it’s Eva with an F, Efa!’ And she’s 4 😂 no one dares get it wrong after that!
