I’m post c section now and I feel like I’ll be ready before 6 weeks but online that is the recommended time. What did everyone else do?

Learn more about our guidelines.4 1/2 weeks once all bleeding etc had stopped x
5 weeks and was fine! When your ready to be honest.
6 weeks is suggested so you have time to heal internally as until then your at risk of infection
The NHS advise there is no minimum amount of time you need to wait. So whenever you're ready
Just shy of 7 weeks, but was super painful so we stopped. Then my period return a few days later. So properly around 8.5 weeks
4 weeks. But it hurt. Felt like losing my virginity all over again
@Becky after a c section? I wouldn’t have thought that but never had one before.
It was really weird, I didn’t think it would hurt either since baby didn’t come out of there. Everything down there felt swollen and sore. I really didn’t enjoy it. I tried again a few weeks later and it was completely fine !
@Becky good to be aware ! Thank you xx
3 weeks PP
The recommended time is 6 weeks due to the plate sized wound from your placenta inside your uterus, nothing to do with your c section scar. If this gets infected, it’s fatal.
@Hannah the NHS don't say there is a minimum time to wait. They don't reference infection risk at all.
Also, infection doesn't mean it's fatal. Let's not scaremonger. Infections are almost always a treatable. Very rarely fatal
The recommended time to wait is 6 weeks due to infection, hence why you get a 6 week check up and get given the thumbs up. I guess if you want to risk it, that’s on you. Each to their own for sure!! X
If you ask any healthcare professional, although it’s not a ‘rule’, it’s not school, it is advice and yes, recommended.🙄
@Hannah when I asked my doctor, he brought up this exact page on the internet in his office and said whenever I want. The NHS's official stance is that it's whenever you're ready. Anyone saying otherwise is not giving up to date advice
12 days after my c section.
@Tori and no complications? X
No not really. I did bleed a couple hours afterwards and have been after having done the deed. I’m a month pp now and still bleed the next day.
