Has someone set up an unlicensed daycare at home that can share the experience? What is required, what are the rules and expectations? Canada
Thank you 😊

Learn more about our guidelines. Not sure on Canada's specific requirements but I believe you can have up to 2 or 3 children being unlicensed. Certifications/some education will help land families but also gain experience with caring for children other than your own. The childcare regulations still always apply. Things like children under 2 need a crib or pack n play, no blankets, safe bathroom space for potty trained children, healthy snacks and meals, diaper changes roughly every 2 hours, safe outdoor space and stroller and don't forget even a basic lesson plan so age appropriate learning toys and activities. Been running mine for a few years now but also come from daycare centers and have an education in Early Childhood Education. I will say, it can be an exhausting job not for everyone, however, if you have the talent for children it is also extremely rewarding and can come with such ease once you get your flow down.
Say you are a MIL. Your son and his wife cannot swing childcare for your son's cousin's wedding (MIL nephew, sister's son). So instead of neither of them coming or dragging a very vocal and hyper active 3 year old to a wedding, son calls his friend (long time friend, most of the family knows) to go with him, so he can support his cousin and family. Groom (cousin) and bride are happy. Would you be mad at your son and daughter in law?

So whilst I was at work today my partner/ child’s father gave my son some fizzy cola bottle sweets he only had 2 he told me. Now he doesn’t have sweets or foods like that often at all only occasionally. He says he forgot to brush his teeth at bedtime. I am overthinking this thinking that he’ll get bad teeth I know But I don’t understand why I’m overthinking this. First time mum guilt I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️

I’m so close to leaving my husband.. between him working all the time (doesn’t make time for family he would rather work and when he’s not working he’s thinking about work), he lack of helping around the house (I told him to do three specific things and that’s all he has to worry about and he can’t even do those things), I’m so burnt out. Taking kids to school and dr appointments and grocery shopping to visiting family to everything in between has been because of me.. all he does is go to work and come home pissed off because of work and then the whole house is mad because of his attitude. I’m so angry all the time because I don’t feel seen or heard.. I told him multiple times that something needs to change or I’m leaving.. and he will change for a week or so and go back to his old ways… I’m done begging for help… I’m done begging him for his time… I might as well go do it completely on my own at this point..

Anyone else tried reaching out in a subtle gentle way that they need more help with looking after the kids/ the house etc and just get a really shitty response or their heads bitten off because “ they go to work” their tired too. Honestly…. I did it on my own with my first son 14 years ago and I feel like I’m doing it on my own again this time round with with extra people to look after! I just feel really alone although I’m not meant to be alone because I have my baby’s dad here…. Anybody relate? I don’t know how else to say it to him…. He just gets so defensive but I just feel really unappreciated and not listened to at the moment. Ahhhh men!!!

So I've just got bk yesterday evening after being on a caravan trip in the UK... 7ish hour drive.
I went by myself and 3 children. 1 of which is a baby with complex health care needs. And another child who I'm currently awaiting adhd assessment if not autistic.
Not that, that matters but to give a bit of a idea of how the week away went on my own with no help and constant meltdowns every day and the extra stress of caring for my baby with his other needs. Cooking meals for everyone whilst balancing my baby on my hip and using the toilet with my baby on my knee or crying sat on the floor waiting to be picked up. Lovely time but extremely stressful to say the least!
I got back last night around 7.30. I asked my partner and dad of my 3 children could you help me with the kids/suitcases and all the bags
His reply was "aw I'm in my pyjamas"
- firstly I thought he would come and help anyway without me asking, as the 2 older children came in the house first. But when I walked in he hadn't even bothered to get up. He just stayed lying on the couch...
So i got some bags in myself and obviously the children.
He told me aw we will get the suitcases in tomorrow. They'll be ok in your car for tonight.
Today he's not bothered much with the kids. Feel like he's not being patient atall. He's moaned a few times about it being messy with baby's toys etc.... I've got the suitcases in as he didn't help like he said. He hasn't asked me how was your trip, what did you get up to? Let's see pics etc. Literally like nothing atall. After saying whilet we were away aw I miss you all. I want to see you all etc.
Sure doesn't feel like it!
The night before we were coming home I woke up at half 1 in the morning with intense stomach pain ( think it could be gallstones) it didn't ease up untill around 9am the day i was driving home so I had around 2.5 hours sleep because of the pain and then set off at 10.15am on the Friday got back home at 7.30 pm on the Friday.
He has now gone out to his friends. And had a 2 hour or so nap today on the couch he's not done anything to make him tired.
Anyone else's opinions on this.
I'm really annoyed and upset.
Am I overthinking ? How would other people feel ?
Thanks for reading to the end x

For context we live in England we’ve had pretty decent weather for the past couple weeks
My man literally always thinks it’s cold even when it’s like 22 degrees Celsius
So it’ll be like maybe 17-20 degrees in our house and he’ll switch on the heating bearing in mind I pay the utility bills and we are in minus at the moment meaning we owe the company (from having the heating on all the time in the winter which is needed as we have 2 small children) and he knows this
I’m on maternity leave atm so don’t get much I do some ad hoc work but because I’m with the kids all day I can only really do in the evening he’s also aware that I don’t get much time to work
I always tell him to put a jumper on if he’s cold in this weather and I have just been switching the heating off it’s so frustrating we constantly go back and forth about the temperature what else can I do at this point as I’m really hoping not having the heating on will balance out our gas bill
