Is that dangerous? My sons dad dropped him home asleep without brushing his teeth yesterday but I thought one night is fine.
Tonight he’s fallen asleep after crying, so didn’t brush them. It’s Easter so he’s been eating a shit load of sugar. I really feel like I need to brush his teeth but not sure if that’s a stupid idea while he’s asleep

Learn more about our guidelines.It's not a stupid idea, brush his teeth. Wait at least 30 minutes to an hour then brush.
@Melissa would you wake them risking them being upset or do it while they sleep?
Don't do it while asleep he can choke. I would just Wait till he wakes up .
@Lydia I agree with Lily dont do it while he is sleeping. Wait until he gets up. Otherwise, if you wait until the morning and do a real thorough brushing.
And just try to get into a routine of brushing before bed.
@Melissa he spent the last hour crying which is why I’m hesitant to wake him. I might just brush the front tooth as that one is chipped and I worry about it. Then a big brush when he wakes up .
@Melissa we have a bedtime routine haha it’s just he fell asleep while having a tantrum today and yesterday his dad brought him home already asleep x
One night of no brushing will not cause an issue, nor will two. Leave it for tonight and get back to it tomorrow
Not useful for now but just a little tip: carrot, celery and cheddar cheese all 'clean' the teeth to some degree, so if your child is having a meltdown/flat out refusing to brush then giving these as a snack can be beneficial.
@Lucy thank you!
I accidentally forgot to brush my daughter's teeth one night so I woke her up a bit to do it. I felt so guilty but she was okay and settled again pretty quickly
By a bit I mean I picked her up and took her to the bathroom which woke her up brushed teeth with the light off and then brought her back to bed
