Evening everyone,
FTM here, My little boy is 7 months next week and just wondering on average how many ml/oz your babies have of milk a day now we are at weening age. We started weaning at 5 months (due to medical advise) and now are on 2 meals a day.
He currently has between 650 and 750 mls per day but not sure if this is enough. Breakfast is usually a weetbix or porridge with fruit and a crumpet on the side And dinner is usually a smaller portion of our dinners either puréed or BLW style with fruit for pudding.
We have always struggled with milk due to him having CMPA he went right off his milk and refused to feed for weeks (only having 2oz a feed as he hated the milk although it was better for his skin and tummy) his weight great now but just curious on if he has dropped to much. Annoyingly our dietitian stopped seeing us as soon as he transitioned to weaning!

Learn more about our guidelines. This week I’ve recently dropped one bottle as my baby girl was just biting and bobbing and wasting so much formula! She now has 3 x 7oz bottles, 2 meals and 1 snack(she isn’t ready for 3 meals yet so going to offer more bit by bit) x
We are on 960ml but not much food going in at weaning time. We started 3 weeks ago and still just offering food for texture and and pushes most of it out of her mouth.
Hi! My LO has CMPA and severe silent reflux and is on Neocate LCP and liquid omeprazole. He is very orally sensitive and quick to gag and projectile vomit.
He lost a lot of weight and dropped two percentiles so at 5 months we were advised to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For breakfast he normally has toast or Ella’s kitchen dairy free banana and coconut yogurt (1/2 of the pouch or 2 ice cubes). He has a savoury and sweet purée offered at lunch and dinner with either 3 melty puffs or 2 wafers. He has around 6 ice cubes worth of purée between lunch and dinner I would say so a total of 8 ice cubes of food a day.
He’s dropped his milk a lot, I offer 5 x bottles of 175ml during the day but today he’s only actually eaten 385ml in total. With two night feeds we should be able to get this to 700ml as he normally finishes 2 x 175ml bottles at night.
He is now maintaining weight and growing along the 2nd percentile x
Thanks ladies, really helps and just reassures me. I know they are all different but we finally got his bottles up and then introducing weaning really threw him off as he just started liking them again. He definitely prefers food but i know his main source of nutrients is milk at this stage. Xx
@Kate our little is on the same and since swapping to milk free he just didn’t want his bottle at all. Loved the taste of kendermil but was horrific for his skin and belly. So when we switched he went from the 75th to the 40th within a month and would only do 2 oz each feed. Finally got it up and was time to wean lol. Now i think he would rather me give him food. Xx
It’s so draining fighting with him everyday just to eat!! He’s enjoying his purées so hopefully when he’s older his allergies stop and he becomes a foodie like us! X
My little boy (just turned 7 months) is on formula now but was breastfed up to about 5ish months. He has 5 bottles a day, 7oz for first morning bottle and bedtime bottle, and the other 3 through the day are either 5 or 6oz and even then he does sometimes leave a bit at the end, more so since weaning. I think he is used to feeding regularly because he was breastfed but now he's having more solids he's not as hungry so doesn't need as much quantity
