Myself and my fiancé are having our first night away from our baby this Saturday. He is 3.5 months old, and will be staying at our house with my partners brother and his wife who we are very close to and trust to look after him.
We will be staying half an hour away, and home in the morning.
I know it’s natural to feel anxious, but today I feel completely overwhelmed and overthinking the whole thing.
What’s everyone’s experience with this? Did you feel better after taking some time for the two of you?

You’re not far away if anything did happen and you’re leaving them with someone your trust so I’m sure everything will be fine. It can be hard the first time but it gets easier. You can always ask for regular pictures or updates if that helps
Agreed it’s very healthy to have some time for yourselves, for each other too. Me and my husband do more short trips now while my parents look after our 2.5 yo, but I will say my anxiety wouldn’t even entertain the idea til he was nearly 18 months! Given you’re half an hour away, you can always change your mind and easily come home to your baby whenever you want. The anxiety is a very natural feeling for a mother, particularly when they’re do young xxx
