Hi!
I had my first period postpartum last month (8months PP). I was due on my period yesterday but I haven’t came on. I am combi feeding my baby, breast morning and bedtime but formula during the day. Prior to being pregnant my periods were so regular.
Has anyone else experienced irregular periods after having a baby?

Learn more about our guidelines.Breast feeding or pumping is known for throwing ur periods off massively some women don't even experience a period for the time they are breast feeding. And even if u weren't breast feeding it takes 2 years after birth for ur hormone to fully return to normal and that's if u aren't breast feeding, on hormonal birth control, take certain medications, dink alcohol, consume caffeine, eating certain foods, have certain health conditions. There are about a million things that can affect ur periods and hormones. So I wouldn't expect ur period to return to normal for at least 2 years pp and if your still breastfeeding by then as well I wouldn't expect normal periods either. I'm 9 months pp and I don't breast feed and my periods r still all over the place, I just don't think about it and inbrace the weird irregular periods as I could go 2 months without one and tbh I'm just grateful for the break. But yh definitely do not expect ur periods to run on a cycle especially only having ur first one last month x
Same boat here.
I bled for 1 day last month at 8m PP.
Breastfeeding is the main cause for our delay in periods. Don’t stress it. It’ll come when it comes. Just stay protected (condoms,bc, etc *if worried about conception*) and enjoy not bleeding every month! 💓
