That's really interesting. My daughter sleeps really well when she first goes to bed and wakes up at around 12 for a feed but goes back down. When she wakes up again usually between 1.30 and 3am it's impossible to get her back down because as soon as she is on the mattress she starts grunting, sounds really congested, rubbs her nose and is stirring/ arching from her silent reflux. We are due to start omeprazole as well so I'd be interested to see what any other mums say about this.

My daughter wakes up from it. Her eyes are wide and she looks uncomfortable. Her arms flap quite a bit. When I first saw her do it I panicked as she looked so uncomfortable. Initially she looks asleep but it wakes her up. The only way she will settle is if I hold her and she usually wants to breastfeed again but it's literally for a few minutes. She will sleep on me fine after that but not in her crib.
That’s interesting, my daughters reflux has recently got really bad again and had been sleeping through but now wakes around that time every morning - I may have to look into that further! No advice about when to do the Omeprazole - all I know is that it’s supposed to be given on an empty stomach (hard to know exactly when that is) so if hubby is doing a feed at 12/1ish then it’s likely not going to be. I used to give my daughter hers at 7am before her morning bottle but I know others that used to give it before bedtime - hopefully you find something that works best for little one x
Mine is the same, cries from 3am onwards. Infant reflux solutions state all about the acid dump and it makes sense.
I feel like I could have written that myself, we’re pretty much exactly the same! My husband does the 12/1 feed and I kept thinking he just wasn’t burning little one properly as he seems uncomfortable from about 3 onwards - then I did it last night and he did so many burps I was confident it wasn’t that, he settled at 1:30 and low and behold around the same time again the grunting starts! Do you find that they’re still asleep/sleepy and want to be asleep but it’s just super uncomfortable for them? My little one never actually wakes up so I can tell he wants to sleep it must be bothering him so much! Best of luck with the omeprazole, hopefully that will help us both!! Xx
