Hi yes my son is on the pathway too x

Yes and his older 3 brothers are autistic

@Charlotte how’re you finding it? What ’signs’ does your son show if you don’t mind me asking?

@Natalie you’re a super mum! Did you find all of them showed the same kind of signs from the same age or all different?

Thank you. All very very different. All have different learning difficulties. Youngest isn’t weight bearing, non verbal, spinning things, hums all day, sensory needs are very obvious, bites everything. Lots of referrals gone in.

@Natalie I see! I know they say ‘if you know one person with autism, you know one person with autism’. Have all of your children had speech issues? I think that’s what worries me most

That’s very true. My boys amaze me. You will find they have something that’s their thing, like one of my boys will tell you everything and anything about Pokemon but struggles with reading, literature, maths. Yes they have all been under speech therapy 2 still are. Waiting on youngest to get to top of the waiting lists.

@Natalie hopefully he will get it soon. We have had one assessment but he won’t qualify for regular therapy until he is older because of demand 😔 it’s so expensive to go privately but I wish I could. Do they all speak now then? X

Waiting lists are very long. Yes but 2 have difficulties with speech sounds still. So they are still receiving speech therapy.

I noticed signs early he didn’t answer to his name, lots of stimming, didn’t talk or wave or clap feel free to message me x

Hey love I’m on the spectrum and being a mother on the spectrum I can help if yo need any advice plz reach out autism is generally genetic i promise it’s not a bad thing it may be difficult to Understand but once you understand his stimms and non verbal communication you will be able to help him understand him self as well bc sometimes autism can prevent someone knowing how they are communicating or how they are reacting it’s a very common thing with autistic children and people so we may not know how to differentiate anger and anxiety or happyness and other emotions yes it’s gonna be a struggle for you but it gets easier over time

My son has just been diagnosed with severe autism.. he's also non verbal and has GDD
