Midwives Brew

Ladies!! 40w, my midwife has given me the recipe for Midwives Brew & also told me the potential side effects. Has anyone tried it? I’d love to hear all stories, successful in jump starting labour & not so successful at getting a move on! Thanks heaps!!

I found mine on google, but I’m trying everything else to get labour started before the brew. Please let me know how it goes and what’s your recipe ❤️

I’m 40 and 1 I had mine about three hours ago made me super tried ! No contractions yet 😭

@Tennille I hope it works I really want to try it, I’m 41 + 5 days. I was told that my baby is fine and i want to have it all come naturally so it’s a waiting game. But I’m trying everything to get her to go naturally. I think it might be soon as my overall pain is getting worse with back and massive pelvic pain and lighting but she is stubborn 😂

So since seeing my midwife earlier I’ve been getting contractions 35ish minutes apart, if they don’t intensify or become more regular - I will be having the Midwives Brew tomorrow morning for breakfast! I’ll touch back in with an update x

@Jordan I’ve had the same massive pelvic pressure back pain on and off period like cramps had my appointment today she could only feel shoulders so she’s down low I’ve done the yoga ball curb walking pineapple Cleary sage oil is in my diffuser right now 😂

@Tennille pineapple and sage hmm? Does it work I’ll have to try it. I’m heading to the Melbourne expo tomorrow morning to get some free stuff and more ideas and stuff for her. Is anyone going ?

@Jordan the pineapple really started to hurt my mouth so I stopped but the sage oil I only just started midwife said pop it in a diffuser

@Tennille I’ll have to buy some and try

Just because you aren’t having contractions don’t be so sure your cervix is getting ready! I’m 35 weeks in hospital day 4 having zero intervention cervix softened and moved forward ready to go

I was 39+1 when I drank it, around 9pm at night, waters broke about 12 hours later and then had my son about 24 hours after that. Had no complications and gave birth naturally, did have to be induced though as my waters broke and I didn’t get any contractions, they were going to leave it and see if I started getting contractions naturally but as I tested GBS positive the week before I opted to be induced and have the antibiotics through IV rather than go home and have the antibiotics in pill form

Does anyone have a good recipe for it? I found one online but is it the same ?

@Jordan I just used the recipe online! I couldn’t get the exact tea that it has online so I just used a lemon raspberry tea instead. It didn’t taste amazing but it also wasn’t as horrible as some people have said in forums I read online either
