I’ve just got back and the smoke goes up the chimney but you can see on the wall the black smoke marks so I would recommend using it x
We dont have one but my mum does and uses it with my LG there and she has been ok with it and likes to watch it but she does have it maintained often and the chimney swept every year. It all depends on how well they keep it cleaned and maintaind ect which i wouldnt expect them to be, also if baby is moving around it would need a fire guard and there should also be a carbon monoxide alarm in the property as they can give out carbon monoxide x
@Sarah would or wouldn’t recommend because of the smoke marks? x
We've just come back from holiday as well and the lodge We've stayed in have a log burner. It is well maintained and the smoke goes up the chimney. Centre parcs probably have theirs well maintained too I should imagine. We just kept our baby on sight all the time. He liked watching the logs burn. He can't quite crawl yet though so he can't really go near it. But rolls really well and could easily reach the burner. Can you ask centre parcs if they have gates to go around them? Otherwise I suggest use it but keep baby watched ALL the time. Enjoy your holidays x
@Jade wouldn’t. It’s in a metal cage too x
We have a log burner at home and use it with the little one. It's definitely better to be nice and warm than cold!
@Sally I was just wondering about the smoke not the Temperature.
I know but the smoke inhalation over short term will be negligible compared to the impact of not being warm enough.
I wouldn’t have thought it would be an issue at all if you burn the correct wood and you’re not burning anything toxic etc
@Jennie it is still smoke inhalation which is not recommended around developing lungs
@Jade I’d say that’s over time say if you were in a very small non ventilated space over a number of years it would be an issue rather than a weekend away maybe? And won’t most of it go up the flue/chimney anyway?
I sadly don’t have an answer for you - but would like to be here for the answers! 🤍
