I lost handfuls of hair during postpartum but it stopped after a few months
I started taking biotin. It did wonders for mine and I have new sprigs. Babies are nutrition thieves
Just part and parcel. It will come back. I currently have a very unexpected fringe 😂
Yes I’m dealing with this and my daughter is now 2 1/2 my hair has never been the same. I already have thin hair to begin with but I have been taking hair skin and nail vitamins. I also have been reinforcing my hair with K -18 mask which you can find at Sephora. I also use destined for density peptide serum every night by Briogeo. I’ve been seeing a difference now since I’ve been using it for almost 3 months.
I’ll add I also kept taking my prenatal until i was done breastfeeding but some people take them after for a long time as well for other reasons so I would say keep taking that too.
So unfortunately it’s normal. No no one tells us beforehand either which sucks. Brush your hair regularly.. the oils will help keep it healthy. A shampoo/condition to help with adding/keeping moisture in your hair and tea tree oil products can help to thicken/keep it healthy. I would recommend all those and then you just have to wait unfortunately. It will stop.. we’ll slow down to your normal hair loss eventually. Eating healthy and drinking plenty of water helps ton of make it too bad too surprisingly.
Replenish your nutrients! Researching postpartum depletion may give you some insight.
I lost hair in clumps by 5 months PP. I am 16 months PP and my hair is finally growing back
I was told by a dermatologist that I could try taking prenatals/vitamins and that the best thing is just time, losing the hair should stop before or by the time baby is a yr old.
@Jen same.. my 4th pregnancy was the hardest.. as soon as I was pregnant I noticed so much hair falling . I never had this problem with my other pregnancy but I guess every one is different 😓
@Laura no.. but I'll probably start taking them.. may that'd help me .
I have just started with this too!! Devastated!! Because my hair is thing anyway. Try british supplements. I am taking collagen, biotin and silica. Read up on British supplements. They are 100% the vitamin you are purchasing. No added bulk to the supplement. Even the capsule is natural! The pharmaceutical companies try and shut him down all of the time! Because if everyone decided to purchase natural supplements, they would lose ALOT of money! Any supplement you buy from pharmaceutical companies are full of s#it ! You won't regret looking at his page on exactly what he uses/does compared to other money making companies !!
Iron, vitamin D, biotin tablets and then rosemary oil, coconut oil and Castor on hair. If it doesn’t work then bloods with your GP xx
@Haley Hey! It’s actually Brynna pronounced Bryn-uh. I love my name!! But I love Brynlee so much too, my mom debated Brinley before I was born ☺️

I'm 14 months pp and still losing hair lol.. it's different for each pregnancy. My first I hardly lost any hair and my second I think is making up for my first. 😫 and I'm still taking my prenatal vitamins.
@Bryn I love your name! Is that your whole name? I was thinking about Brynlee for my girl and her nickname would be Bryn.
Take vitamins and use a hair growth serum, the one I use is amazing!
Oil scalp treatments/ a hair thinning serum, and a shampoo/conditioner specifically for your hair type. I got you!!!!!!!!
@Adaylya I'm going to try this.. thank you 😊
These have really helped mine! Highly recommend them. Has biotin/collagen for hair growth. My hair grows back really fast and thick and the texture feels a lot healthier. Have to be consistent but they work really well. https://babyblues.care/products/postpartum-hair-loss-vitamins
@Bryn my mom had Covid hair loss and was taking mielle supplements. It seemed to help her hair loss. However, I’d check to make sure they are breastfeeding safe etc
I found Moon Juice’s Super Hair supplement very helpful! I started losing wads and wads around 4-6months. I’m 19 months postpartum now (still bf) and my hair has greatly improved.
Keep taking your prenatal, low manipulation,
Are you still taking a prenatal vitamin? I asked my dr when i stop taking that and she said take it through breastfeeding because it gives baby nutrients and helps with postpartum hair loss!
Just want to make sure you know what’s going on. No matter what you use you will lose hair and it’s because you are now shedding the hair that you didn’t during your pregnancy since some of the hormones that we create during pregnancy changes your normal shedding process. Around 3 months post pregnancy it starts up again and it will feel like handfuls of hair because you hair has gotten so much thicker. Now things you can do up your vitamins, make sure you have biotin, make sure to eat healthy, and take care of your hair. But just know this is normal and it sucks but it’s part of the course
As someone already suggested the Mielle rosemary hair oil helped me TREMENDOUSLY before I even got pregnant for my hair loss. I wouldn’t recommend something I didn’t think actually helped. :)
I’m 35, our little one is 9 months old, I’m still breastfeeding and started losing hair again :(
