Ready, Set, Food

Looking for reviews. My pediatrician typically says no food at all before 6 mo the but my husband has a lot of food allergies including egg yolk and some nuts. Has anyone used Ready Set Food? My sister and a friend both did and had a great experience so I'm looking for a little more feedback before I commit to 6-12 months of it! Thanks mamas!

In general, I think the program is great. But I would recommend just starting with one box of step one, then buy more if it works for you. It’s so tempting to buy the full program at the very beginning since it’s such a better price. That’s what I did. Unfortunately, my daughter seems to have an egg allergy, and since the allergens build on each other, literally the entire program has egg in it. This means that there’s a fair chance we won’t be able to use the two boxes of step two, the step three, and the oatmeal and bars we bought! If I had started out with just one box of step one, I could’ve looked into their egg free option for step two. As it is, I’ll have to talk with my daughter’s pediatrician to figure out if we should continue or just donate the rest of the boxes.

As for your question about waiting until six months to start food, our pediatrician said it was less about the month and more about whether or not our daughter was showing signs of being ready. You can look those up online, but most of them are regarding posture and neck, strength. That being said, we waited until six months to give our daughter solids anyway. We just put the ready set foods powder and a 2 ounce bottle of breastmilk each morning. That way she still got the allergens, but I didn’t have to worry about her not being ready for food yet.

@Karen awesome thank you! That's exactly what my sister did and it worked great for her.

@Bel 🧿 do you like the product? Do you recommend it?
