Jumperoo/ walker

Is it worth buying a jumperoo or baby walker for my almost 8month old ?

There’s evidence to show that using a walker before they can crawl causes them to miss the crawling stage which believe it or not doesn’t help with maths later on. Something to do with the dimensions they learn from crawling which helps develop their ability to do maths later on. Personally, I wouldn’t let mine use a walker for longer than 30 mins a week. I have one, and I’ll put him in it as something different to play with every now and then but certainly not for prolonged periods of time. I would like him to crawl first, or be able to choose what he does rather than have him in a walker and making him miss the crawling step. If that makes sense? Up to you though, but that’s my advice.

I don’t have one, I know people love them but we’re under physio with the NHS due to a difficult birth and they really recommend against using them as they can delay development. I think push walkers are fine but the ones they sit in are a no no I’m told.

Different spin of the coin, we’ve had a baby Walker that he sits in and a door bouncer since Christmas. No delays in development here, in fact he’s exceeding himself and has been crawling for a month, pulls himself up to standing and walks a few steps holding on to us. It’s all personal preference, and only you know what your baby is capable of doing x

We have a jumperoo and our LG loves it

My boy has both n honestly he's crawly and walking while holding my hands he's not even 8 months yet I don't keep him in the walker for long but he lets me know when he's had enough crawling then he zooms round the house in it So do what you think is best for your baby you know your baby the best hun

My girl loves her jumperroo and Walker although she cannot walk in it yet! She can reverse 😂 although they are recommends against I always think, If they were unsafe they wouldn’t be for sale in the current market! If you speak to enough health workers they rule out nearly everything my girl loves 🙈 I’ve never seen an adult that can’t walk because they used a jumperroo or didn’t do tummy time 🤷‍♀️ xx

We were advised against them with my eldest by a physio so we never bothered with my younger 2. My middle one started walking independently at 9 months so I dont feel that they are necessary. There is evidence that prolonged use can cause damage to their hips and delay development. Things that are unsafe such as walkers, cot bumpers, car seats that are tested to the legal minimum are still ok to be sold despite overwhelming evidence for the latter 2 that they're not safe. Companies are about profit not the safety of your baby.

My baby loves both of them and zooms round the kitchen, very cute. She is just 8 months now x

My little boy has one and he loves it, we only use it for 15 mins at a time. Both me and my bro had one when we were little and ended up pro dancers so definitely didn't affect our ability to walk/dance💃🏻🕺🏼
