Should straw cups be that hard to suck??

Ok so this is probably a really daft/weird question but we’re trying to get our almost 1 year old girl to take her morning milk out of a straw cup, but with every cup I buy the straw seems almost impossible to suck out of. I’ve tried them and nearly given myself a headache trying to get anything out of them. Do babies have some sort of super strength suck that us adults don’t have? Am I buying the wrong ones? Anyone else had this problem?

Which one are you using? I found the munchkin one really hard to use, switched to a tommee tippee one and it’s much easier!

@Beth We’ve got the munchkin weighted straw ones and the tommee tippee insulated one. If you think the tommee tippee one is easier I’m wondering if maybe I’ve put the pieces back together incorrectly after washing it :-/

Tum tum straw cups are good and easy to suck out of. We also have the munchkin weighted straw cup and at first that was so hard to suck out of but I discovered there's a bit of plastic at the bottom of the weight and once I took that off my son uses it fine

My LG does have a habit of launching hers across the room and often the straw will come unattached inside which means she then gets cross she can’t drink from it, so I’m constantly checking the straw is still in place 🤦🏼‍♀️

We use the bear one. No worries, I was quite embarrassed when I figured it out 🤣

@Amy haha I was embarrassed to post this but I was like “am I missing something here??” 😂😂

I had this issue too!! And I took the plastic off the munchkin weighted one and it made no difference, I spent a small fortune and LO couldn’t do it and I was trying them thinking there must have been a reason for them being so hard to suck 😂 I then bought a £3 kids one from B&m and little one knew how to use it straight away so we just use that now x

Just wanted to say thank you for the advice on the Tum Tum straw cup, my daughter absolutely loves it and is drinking from it like there’s no tomorrow now 😃😃
