Misgendering babies

So people literally cussed me out for saying my baby in the womb was just baby. Or they. But now when I dress her in pink ppl out in the wild are saying he, your son....sigh. literally what is wrong with saying "ur baby is cute" or "they are so cute"? Cuz now that I'm purposefully dressing her in girly things ppl are fucking getting it wrong and I was made to be a villain for not wanting to use gendered language for my baby. Now I'm annoyed.

Haven’t been cussed out (yet) but my 7 year old has always been misgendered even when he was a baby/toddler with short hair in male-gendered clothing. He’s always preferred his hair long and fortunately no one has given him enough shit to discourage him or make him feel bad but I’m kind of anticipating it happening the more polarized the climate becomes and the crazier people get.

No one cussed me out for using gender neutral terms, but I had soooo many people go: :😱 are you having twins???? Then try to correct me and go, "you can just say he or she." It got to where I was literally saying, "look, gender neutral singular they has been used since Chaucer and Austen, I think I'm good."
